This would be a tough test as it is, but it'll be even tougher without so many key players. If the Flyers play a tigh defensive system like they have the last two games, I think they have a good shot at it.

It's a cap move. He'll only remain with the team on game days.

Another great GDT.

This will be a really tough game, but I'm gonna predict that the Flyers will edge this one out 4-2.

Amazing job again Lion....

This should be a good game - both teams dealing with injuries, and should match up pretty well.

It's Nitty's chance to show that he can be #1 - hope he takes full advantage of the opportunity!

If Nitty plays will enough with Esche out, does that make him the No.1? I'm just sort of curious, even though Esche had that great game against the Devils, I still don't know if he's back on track yet and now he has to deal with an injury.

I think this will be a really tough game for the Flyers though, the Preds have a sick home record.

Im picking the Flyers to win tonight. I think they are going to have a tough time with the Flyer's forechecking and cycling because the team is smaller, like the Devils. Plus Nitty's real good on latteral movement which is necessary with thier team. Should be fun i say 2-1 again. LETS GO FLYERS

Great GDT also

Great GDT Lion ... thanks.

Flyers are going to have to keep this one low-ish scoring. When Jon Sim is a projected second liner, you know your offense isn't going to the pop to put up 5+.

Flyers 3 - Nashville 1
(Carter, Gagne, Umberger)

Funny thing from the Tampa game:

Quote:

Lightning fan strikes

Forsberg was sitting in the penalty box at the St. Pete Times Forum late in a game against Tampa last month when a first-time-that's-happened-to-me event occurred.
A female fan rushed down the steps, tapped on the glass and lifted her shirt.
Did this provide any extra inspiration?
"Inspired?'' said Forsberg with a grin. "I'm like, I told the guys 'cause we were laughing with the people in the stands 'How am I supposed to keep my concentration?'''
You might say this put new meaning to the term "sin bin.''
"It was hard to miss her,'' Forsberg said. "So it was good.''

Eager played a very solid and inspired game, would have liked to seen play tonight. Does anyone know who he is playing with on the Phantoms. Is he playing a shut doen type role?

No I believe he's playing on one of their top two lines.

Maybe this idea should have its own thread, but I'll just float it here. Just from watching Eager, I think he could do just as well as Brashear on this team.

Why don't we send Brashear to the Phantoms and save ourselves the 1.5 mill in cap room that the remainder of his salary probably takes up. This would give us some more flexibility at the deadline to make some moves.

Thoughts?

It would basically be permanent, because if you call him up and he goes on re-entry waivers, someone is likely to take him for half price. I think once we have some of the other forwards back healthy for depth (Ready and Stevenson), it's worth considering.

Stevenson:

Quote:
Turner Stevenson (right hip strain) skated yesterday and felt good enough to make the trip to Nashville, where he will participate in the team's morning practice. Jim McCrossin said Stevenson should be able to return to the lineup by Tuesday for the home game against Calgary.

Probably because management wants the Phantoms to make the playoffs.
