Rumor: Habs interested in Sykora

source: www.thefourthperiod.com

what do you guys think? I think he could be helpful, he was really good when he played with the Devils but his play seems to have tailed off recently, but he is only 29, so he is still relatively young. He costs a lot though ~3 million, so what would have to go the other way?

If his salary was lower id consider it. Fact is He's bloody expensive for such a marginal upgrade at this point and time.

Maybe around the trading deadline I would pick him up due to the fact his contract will be almost all paid and he would be ufa at the end of the season.

Eh..... I dunno if Sykora still has the drive to play

I'd like to add Sykora, but the cap causes problems.

If the Ducks are just looking for a salary dump, we could send Sundstrom the other way and they save 2 million or so. We'd be awfully close to the limit, but at the end of the season we'd have Sykora and Sundstrom off the books, giving 4 million to spend on something decent.

If the Ducks are looking for anything quality in return, I'll pass.

This would be a financially irresponsible trade...if such a thing exists.

It would also depend on whats going out the other way..

Exactly what I was thinking. Then we could get Pleks centering the 3rd. T'isnt going to happen though, I think Gainey was the only person that could fall for Bonk..

If we can dump salary back, some salary we'd like to dump (Say Sundstrom and/or Bonk and since it's in California, Souray) then I'd do it.

If they want it to be a one way dumping, forget it.

I guess that doesn't look too bad. But would Anahiem take Bonk off our hands? I doubt it.

Maybe not Anaheim but we could find a team for him I'm sure if we'd ship him for not much.

Like I said before we dont have a second line that can compete in the playoffs. Sykora would be a nice addition as he has stanley cup experience and would give the ribeiro line a nice boost.

I dont know if you notice but when it comes to scoring goals were one of the worse teams in the eastern conference. Were one of the best when it comes to allowing goals. are d in my opinion has done a fine job and the prouve to that is that in the last 2 games we've been missing 3 of are best defensemen and yet the other teams havent scored more than 4 goals.

We need some scoring punch and adding sykora to the mixt would be a great idea.

Againts the sabres we were up by a goal in the 3rd period and we had a 5-3 power power play and couldent bury the game in our favor. Againts los angeles we were up by a goal again in the 3rd and had two straight power plays and yet couldent find the back of the net to get us an extra boost. were lucky it dident come back and bite us in the back.

We need some extra scoring punch cause we dont have enough.

I'd like this one.

I seriously doubt the Ducks would part with one of their most reliable D-men for years.

I'm not sure if bonk would fit into Burke's gameplan.
