I watched him play last night for the first time this year and you got a future stud on the blue line. I think he is the best dman taken in the draft in my opinion.

I was hoping for the leafs to get a higher pick in the lotery. The two guys I was interested where Staal and Cogliano. How about we trade ya Rask and Colavacio for Staal

There is no way he's better than Jack Johnson but I wish I could share your opinion

I do believe that he's pushed himself ahead of Bourdon though.

I'm still not 100% sold on Staal (as you guys might remember I wasn't high on him at all before the draft) but he's slowly proving me wrong. Which is a good thing!

Anything in particular that you liked about how he plays?

The little that I have seen him reminds me of Larry Robinson when Robinson was his age. Very gangly, awkward at times. Which is typical of an athlete who has not yet grown into his body. I don't know if he is possessed with the same ruggedness and toughness that Robinson had.

Another week and we'll get to see them.

He and Tommy Pyatt hopefully. Too bad the camp wasn't in Winnipeg again, I caught the Swiss vs. Canada game. Crosby was incredible as usual, but it would have been nice to have watched a Ranger kid there.

Who've we got this year?

Marc Staal
Lauri Korpikoski

Maybe Pyatt...our two boys from the States were axed.
Don't think I'm missing anyone, especially considering our mostly All-Canadian draft last year.

I understand that you have an opinion, but I don't understand the shocked face. Maybe that Carolina kid Johnson deserves a shocked face, but I think you have delusions of grandeur if you think your prospect deserves a shocked face when someone says that Staal is better than him. Unbelievable homerism.

Zdenek Bahensky was on the tryout roster for the Czechs.
