Injury Update

Desjardins: no date but IMO it sounds like it wont be long.
Quote:
What about Desjardins?
Hes been exercising a lot, and feeling better every day, but hes not cleared to join us to skate as of today. So, well see in a day or so.
Kapanen: good news.
Quote:
Sami Kapanen skated again yesterday, took a lot of shots, and said his right shoulder was feeling good. Kapanen said he might return to the lineup on Nov. 30 when the Flyers meet the Devils on home ice
Primeau...

Is Keith a long-range injury?
I dont think any of us know. I dont think any of us have any idea right now. All we know is that hes not cleared to do physical exercise, which is the next step. Until hes cleared to do that, then the process really accelerates. Until you get that clearance, hes day-to-day, or week-to-week. We dont know.

I suppose that this should come as no surprise really.........it's only a matter of time that when a guy has a whole team riding his back, it's only normal he's gonna strain something!!!!

Get well soon Foppa!

On PGL, Hitch said Forsberg felt the groin was "okay" but not "good", and pulled him from the game after his first shift in the third period. Hopefully they'll take the same no-chances approach to tomorrow.

I hope Carter, and not Richards, will be selected to take his place for tommorows game.

I agree, i'd go with something like:
Gagne-Carter-Knuble
Handzus-Richards-Kapanen
Radio-Umberger-Sim
Brash-Sharp-Stevenson

and when Foppa gets back:
Gagne-Forsberg-Knuble
Handzus-Richards-Sim
Umberger-Carter-Kapanen
Radio-Sharp-Stevenson

and hopefully we'll get Prims back and some point and worry about inserting him into that lineup, maybe in place of Umberger.

I like the first line on paper but there seems to be that element of a playmaker missing. Pairing Carter with Handzus and Kapanen has good passing, good movement, and a hell of a shot. We've all seen what Richards can do with the puck so it shouldn't really be a question of pairing him with Gagne. We'll have a more balanced top six pairing but after that we'll really be pressed for goals. Let's just hope Niitty does what Fuhr does and close the gates when it counts.

Forsberg will be fine.

Just use some ice and stretch it out.

that's the best option. Like I said before, the last thing you want to do to an injury like that is further it.

If Forsberg is out, even for one game, I'd rather see Richie play on the first line because of his passing ability. He plays a similar game to Forsberg.

Glad that it's nothing severe. I think that our key players will be able to step it up until then.

Although Philadelphia center Peter Forsberg's injured right groin is getting better, he will not play Tuesday night at the New York Islanders.
Forsberg, the team's leading scorer, also figures to be sidelined for Wednesday's home game against New Jersey, coach Ken Hitchcock said. He's aiming for a return by Forsberg on Saturday in Nashville.

Turner Stevenson left the game early on Saturday with a hip flexor and will also be out of the lineup for Tuesdays game. To take his place on the roster, the Flyers on Monday recalled left wing Ryan Ready from the Phantoms.

Robert Esche will be back in net on Tuesday.
Wed like to see Esche play against the Islanders and the Devils, but well see how it goes, said Hitchcock.

Looks like forsberg will miss 1-2 more games.......
Better to be safe then rush him back he ends up hurting it worse and being out longer......

I agree , as much as i like Carter , I think Richards is a better playmaker and passer . Carter seems to be more of a scorer.
