neither game has been played at home, so there are only a handful of people who have actually seen him play.

reports are that he's incredibly athletic, has good positioning, and has made some great saves. i hope he stays around & folks at the V get to watch him play soon.

I had the pleasure of seeing him play his first AHL game (which he won) in Springfield. I was very impressed by his performance. His positioning was solid, he is very quick laterally (post to post) and he controlled the puck well not giving up many rebounds.

Hope to hear that he continues to grow. Saw him a few times last year during the lockout.

two games in the A... time to recall him, give him the starting job... and the Vezina.

the answer to all the Kings woes lies in a good Fuk.

I hope that if he ever makes the NHL level, the team (Kings) and the league would market the hell out of him in Japan (a la Ichiro), their hockey program needs a kick-start.

I have no doubt that they would.

I think that the Japanese would do enough of that by themselves. Yutaka wouldn't need the NHL offices to have his name plastered all over Japan.

Good that hes playing well. His numbers are identical to Brusts who did his over the 6 games to begin the year with the Monarchs. Both goalies Fuji and Brust will end up being good NHL backups in the future.

Your Magic 8-Ball is way more optimistic than mine.

Andy Nowicki appears to have a very optimistic view as well.

If Fukufuji continues to play well will he be the starter for the Monarchs? How has his play compared to that of Brust, and Hauser?

Not this year. Hauser is the #1 and will get the bulk of the games. Probably on the order of 3 to 1. The plan is to have Fukufuji and Brust rotate between Manchester & Reading on a month to month basis. Brust played great when he was here earlier this season and in the 2 games Fukufuji has started, he has looked very solid as well.
