I whole heartedly concur. But it's not his fault he sees so much ice. (though I'm sure some fans will try and blame him for that too )

It just pisses me off how some people are so adamant about how much he sucks and how useless he is. Look around the league, virtually every team in the league has issues on the backend. As far as third pairing guys go, Corvo is legitmately good. This is especially true in a salary cap world where it is very difficult to budget for six strong defensemen.

Yeah, he perhaps he is prone to more mishaps than most. But that is counteracted by his heavy shot, ability to play along the boards, solid skating and generally strong defensive presence. (in regards to plays like 1on1's, clearing the zone, playing solidly in front of his own net/along the boards) His defensive miscues are more of the variety of errand passes, bad pinches, turnovers at opposing teams blueline etc. These are also the variety that tend to get magnified, especially when they lead to a goal. But, generally speaking, he is pretty alright on defense. (not a ringing endorsement but he is a third pairing defenseman.)

I pray for the day when his mishaps are minimalised and someone, preferably not me , hails him the "perfect third-pairing defenseman".

Why should I be happy with Corvo just about causing a breakaway? A negative play generated a negative post, and that was my only one; everything else has been positive. Way to be selective with which posts you acknowledge.

Back to the picture, is Sean a member of the Russian mafia now?

LaBarbera was very solid, but not spectacular, nor did he steal any games. The Kings were playing their best hockey then and LaBarbera was getting the easier teams, remember. He played about as well as Garon has these last half-dozen games (not counting tonight), IMO: very solid.

Congrats to the Kings for beating the Leafs!

Hey Kings fan out there! If you don't know by now......I am a Flyer fan who lives in Toronto. (poor me!) I would like to give your team a for beating the pesky Leafs last night! It will defiantely make for a better day of radio in this city and a peaceful day at the office.

I also had the pleasure of meeting J.R. Monday night at a sports collectable store in TO. (www.frozenpond.com) It is the second time I've met him and you should be happy to have him on your team. This guy is a soldier!!! He's a bit banged up right now but be patient..........he'll be there for your team when you need him most!

Anyways.........I would just like to thank the King's nation for beating the Boys in Blue!!!

I don't know if I'd be so quick to say that Garon single handedly cost the Kings either of those game which were both 3-2 losses.

In the Blackhawks game, all 3 Chicago goals were PP goals so, maybe penalties cost them the game. Also the Kings were out shot in that game 35 to 21 so, maybe lack of offence cost the Kings the game.

In the Canadians game the shots were pretty even, 31 - 30 but one goal given up was a short handed goal so maybe it was a defensive laps that cost the Kings the game.

I'll admit that I didn't witness either game so I can't say for sure but the possibility is there that the losses weren't 100% Garons fault.

I didn't forget them at all, but I don't think either of them qualify as a goaltender "stealing a win" for their team.
