for consideration at the Turin Games.... and I think Mario should do the same thing..... Thoughts?

Well I think some veteran presence is required. While I think Steve did the right thing, I say Mario should stick.

Mario has 21 points this year. Hardly amazing, but Yzerman has more or less lost his spot in the NHL, let alone the Olympics.

While someone else may score slightly more, I think Lemieux brings too much to the table to not go.

They don't need Mario, that team is full of leaders. I'd rather have someone who can still skate.

for Yzerman , it must be a tough decision for any player to make but he understands were hes at in his career.


I think the only way I see Lemieux backing out of team canada is if he has to make the choice between him and Crosby.

If I were Crosby and that situation took place, I'd have to understand that I will have many Olympic years ahead, while this WILL be Mario's last. Lemieux/Crosby? Give it to Lemieux

id like to see spezza there. is heatley going for sure? i heard something last week about him being still considered.

hard to believe he wouldnt be an automatic.

Steve did the right thing, i didnt see him there either.
About Mario, his presence in the desssing room alone warrants him being there.
he's Canada's uncontested leader.
