Defenseman that could be moved?

There are a lot of playoff-bound teams who are going to be interested in picking up defenseman, or even teams right now looking to add defensive depth. However, few teams actually have this much-talked-about defensive depth, and most teams, especially due to the cap, are going to be looking for guys, particularly #4/5 men, en masse pretty soon. I thought I'd make a post so fans of the teams they follow could post names of defensemen they think could be moved. Nothing fancy, no trade proposals, just names of defensemen whom you think could be moved. I'll start with a couple I think could go:

Edmonton: Igor Ulanov
Vancouver: Ed Jovanovski, Steve McCarthy
Calgary: Jordan Leopold, Rhett Warrener

Possible moves? How about Salei or Carney from Anaheim?

I don't think you are right about Jovocop, Leopold, or Rhett W. Calgary and VCR are both going to go to the playoffs, and both will want whatever depth they have on defense.

A lot depends on which teams are in contention for a playoff spot near the deadline. For example, if the Isles aren't going to have a shot at the playoffs, I assume that one of Sopel or Janne N could be moved. But, if they look like they'll be in the post-season, both guys will probably be on the Island until the summer.

I dont think anyone would take Ulanov but I could see Vancouver moving Jovo. I dont think he is in their plans next year and if they can get something decent (cheaper/younger/goalie) in return I could see him in a package deal.

Salei, yes. Carney, doubtful. personally, i think Carney should've been named captain over Niedermayer... but that's just me.

I personally don't mind Sopel but the Islanders are paying him like 500,000 to much in my opinion(he makes 2.4 million).

Jovo's not going anywhere.

He's a UFA at the end of the season, and the Canucks are going to make a (perhaps last) run with this core.

Rangers: Tom Poti and the rights to Karel Rachunek. We can use Rachunek now on the PP What a selfish player.

If the Isles are out of contention, they might move him. For the present time, he is not available.

He's not selfish, he did not want to live in New York. Would you live in a city you did not like? We could trade his rights at any point. Rachunek is'nt a selfish player who is on a vendetta to hurt the Rangers, he simply does not want to live in New York. I can see his rights being traded over the summer or as part of a season end trade when we add players for the play-off run.

Poti on the other hand is what we supposedly need, a pp quaterback. I would not mind seeing him traded as long as we got a young defenceman in return.

I can't stand it when people think the Rangers need mediocre PP pointmen
