Garon to start against the Canes

I hope this is a sign of the end of AM's flip flop on goalies. Garon has impressed me and he just needs to be given the ball and let him roll with it.

Coach Andy Murray said after Wednesday's practice that Mathieu Garon would start in goal tonight. Garon stopped 36 of 37 shots against the Maple Leafs on Tuesday. He has a 2.85 goals-against average in 17 games, a bit better than Jason LaBarbera's average of 2.89 in 14 games.

I agree completely that Garon should be given the ball for a while and see if he can allow the team to get back on its feet. He played great at the ACC the other night and looked unbeatable until Tucker scored form a near impossible angle. Great game by Garon and the team for the most part. The one thing that did let our team down was the amount of penalties that we were assessed. Hopefully, we can learn to keep our sticks to ourselves because when even strength we tend to have a great offensive forecheck and it generates a lot of chances putting pressure in their end and taking it off of our end. Go Kings!

After Garon's play on Tuesday, he deserves to keep playing until he show us reason otherwise.

Definately agree here. LaBarbera was given the same chance when he was on fire. Unfortunately for him, family concerns gave Garon the opportunity and he's made the most of it. It's Garon's job to lose now.

It'll be nice to see what Garon can do now that he's been gaining some confidence. He was very, very good against Toronto.
