Comrie gets 4 pts in first home game back in Edmonton

4 assists and a fight for Mike Comrie in his first home game since rejoining the Oilers. He recieved several loud cheers and even a "Comrie" chant from the fans. I guess it is always possible to come home.

I couldn't have imagined a more epic return

It's only preseason so no one is getting to excited but it was nice to see his return go well. He's got to be pretty happy right now.

Comrie, albeit in only two pre-season games, has looked fantastic. Most importantly, hes already won the fans back. We all know he can play, we didnt know how he would be received and now we do.

at 1.1 million a year, this screams success. Even if he only scores 40 points this year, he will have at least met contract expectations.

Never mind the points, the contract, etc. After tonights game and the crowds reaction, its hard not to feel really good FOR and about mike comrie.

Pretty impressive for a debut I must say.

Did Comrie get booed at all? I was interested in seeing how the crowd would react to him.

Not that I heard.

I'd give Comrie the win in th fight, but he does have more experience having fought heavy weights like Briere and Kovy .

Mike Comrie was beastly out there tonight, lol.

Was flying through the neutral zone settin' up Sully from all over the place, was also threatening to shoot since he has a great shot. Making effective plays not overhandling the puck, playing a very smart game.

Also, what impressed me the most (even though it was the Florida Panthers, had their top D in the game and Vokoun as well) was his effort on the backcheck. As quick as he came flying into the O-zone looking to score, he was first forward back in his own end, breaking up rushes and skating hard.

Wonderful game from Comrie tonight and although it was pre-season, it was a beauty to see. The pride was really showing out there tonight.

Got a well deserved standing O.

I am thrilled, Comrie needed to do something big on his Debut and he definitely did that, It was almost the perfect night for him. As a Hockey fan how could anyone boo that performance from him. He did all the right things to win back the fans that's for sure.

Have no clue who he is. I'd say Comrie won it Himelfarb got the take-down but Comrie had more hits in than Himelfarb.

Fortunately for me (and maybe unfortunately for him), I lack a wife. I guess that improves our odds of narrowing down his next "catch."

Not really sure who he is, but Comrie won it. As far as I coul tell he didn't get booed at all which is what I expected.

Was at the game, the crowd actually chanted his name after the fight. He really seemed like he was trying to win the crowd back.

Sounds like he has grown up a lot. He manned up and fought for the respect it's pretty obvious. Good on him

He played in Switzerland last season, is on a tryout with Florida. Just preseason roster fodder.

Comrie was looking pretty good tonight, very fast and slick, great on the PP controlling the play. He looked re-energized after last season. Although the Panthers didn't help themselves, taking lots of bonehead penalties and it gave Comrie a chance to rack up a couple PP points.

Comrie played his first game back in a place that once despised him, had a big night, and won the fans over. It's a feel-good story. That's what we're talking about right now.
