As long as he's not involved with Calgary in anyway I think he's great and teams should keep hiring him.

Yes, and now he's without Bob and their back up

Forsberg played well tonight however, only gave up 2 goals and made 4-5 good saves, and 1 great save

This is true but they are still last in the league as of tonight. Also I didn't realize that Johanssen was such a diva, but by the sounds of it he is. Maybe I'm just wearing my anti-torts-canucks-themed glasses bit too tightly.

Before Torts was hired CBJ were giving up 5+ goals a game, night in and night out. Games werent even close. Couldnt even force anything into OT.

Ever since Torts arrived MOST games have been under 4 or 5 goals and they have forced quite a few games into OT. The team definitely has improved under his coaching. Johansen however has decided he dont do goals for some reason..

Luongo wanted to leave Vancouver before Tortorella was hired. The whole "my contract sucks" debacle happened when Alain Vigneault was still the coach. In fact, Luongo was traded for Jacob Markstrom, who looks to be this franchise's next long-term goaltender.

Tortorella also said before he was fired that this team was too old and that it needed to get younger. He was right.

^ this.

before Bob got hurt they were playing pretty good hockey if i recall. they're just in too deep a hole but they seemed to be showing signs of improvement with him.

This may be true I don't remember the whole saga. I just remember him playing Lack over Luongo in the winter classic. I realize Lack was playing better at the time but that will always go down as the straw that broke the camels back.

I'd give him a B grade so far, I like him, best coach we've had since Hitch imo.

As for Joey, well, ask anyone that follows the team, ask anyone in the locker room, if they say its Torts fault, I'd be shocked.

How so? If anything my post just proves the only one whining is Torts himself.

13-14 was the year after Luongo spent two seasons on the trading block, only to see Schneider dealt. Was supposed to be a big "make-up" season between parties. Everyone left for the Olympics while the Nucks were in a massive slide. Come winter classic time Torts never starts luongo again, and i don't know what he was thinking

Why is that?

He took the Canucks closer to the Cup than they have been in their entire history.

As a Ranger fan I do have some respect for him. That 2012 ECF team was the result of a few years of Torts building his team.

He got the most out of players such as Stralman, Boyle and Johnny Mitchell that were basically on their last chance to make something of themselves.

Likely not a popular opinion, and he's not really a great coach or anything, but the NHL is a better, more entertaining league with Torts in it.

Actually the league would be more entertaining if they realized the average fan wants to see more goals and doesn't give a rat's ass about grit or blocked shots.

Is there supposed to be a joke in here? Are you confusing the Canucks with the Rangers? And if you are you're wrong because AV took the Rangers to the finals in 2014.
