Niklas Kronwall has been skating for a week now.
Kronwall, who underwent successful surgery to repair torn ligaments in his left knee Oct. 10, said "it's too early to say at this point" if he could return earlier than the four- to six-month timetable he originally was given. "Right now I'm just really excited to be out on the ice," he said. "You know, hopefully I want everything to go as fast as possible, but I've got to take everything one step at a time. "Two weeks from now, hopefully I'll be practicing with the team and we'll go from there. "Kronwall said he has felt "a whole lot better" since he started skating last week, but he hasn't tested his knee with any twisting or turning. And he hasn't set any goals yet; he's just following his trainer's orders. "Just as far as skating, I feel a whole lot better than I thought I would," Kronwall said. "They said at this point I should be feeling pretty good. I'm just very excited that I feel as well as I do right now." Dec. 13 - 8:32 am et
