I gotta agree with that. We already don't have enough spots for our goalies and we have one thats making alot of money.
But I also don't think I'd want Connolly. He just hasn't impressed me and has declined in scoring every year. If we were to make another deal, Curtiss Brown would be the targeted player. Plays a very Sutter style and is also a Western Canadian. Two things Darryl goes for.
D Denis Gauthier
D Tim Ramholt
3rd Rd Pick 2003
G Martin Biron
C Tim Connolly
D Dennis Gauthier
C/LW Curtis Brown
4th Rd Pick 2003
Not gonna happen. Gauthier will likely only go for a scoring forward. Biron would be a nice addition but not as long as Turek is still there. That would be pointless. And Ramholt goes nowhere. Calgary management is VERY high on him. Word is they were going to take him in the 1st round.
As for the 2nd deal, it's alright. I don't think Brown is more than a 2nd liner though so I would think Calgary would pass. They don't really need Brown at the cost of Gauthier. Brown could be useful but not in a deal for Gauthier.
I find the last one enticing, but I'm not sure I'm too thrilled about putting Kobasew or Dumont on the third line like the proposal suggests. One of them would have to, and then we'd have a logjam at right wing.
