Umberger will not be a big scorer--that is one of the reasons that the nucks signed his team mate and not him(Ryan Kesler)

No, they signed Kesler because they feel his two-way game is more suited to the NHL at this time than Umberger's offensive style.

BTW, are you implying that Kesler will be a big time scorer?

Also, Kesler desperately wanted to leave college and turn pro.

For what it's worth, the Sports Forecaster says that he has excellent potential and brings an "enticing package of size and speed to the table".

Umberger has the offensive talent to be a top line player, just look at his numbers from the NCAA. Its whether or not he is capably defensively oor motivated enough to put it all together and become a top 6 forward.

According to scouting reports--the questions of his foot speed is still there
?????????

Umberger has always been described as a guy with a great combination of size, skill, and speed.

His drawback is his consistency.

Umberger seems too key on money----he would not make the nucks roster right now.

BTW

Whenever I here the C word when it comes to players---I always think of the H word--as in heart as ikn the player has no heart

Sounds a lot like Buffalo's negotiations with Barrett Heisten. When it got right down to the nitty gritty the Sabres just didn't feel he was worth the money he was asking.

yeah, it seems like we did the right thing though--
Barrett isn't anything special yet.
