Ana goalie proposal

Edmonton might move Salo in the future because of money concerns just wondering what it would cost us in picks and/or players for Gerber?or Bryzgalov?

I don't think the Ducks will trade either for another year or so...probably Gerber will get traded when Bryzgalov is closer to being ready for NHL play...but thats a year away.

Not sure what Gerber would bring in a trade.

read the thing again, fez
he says they're going to move salo (not to us) and would want to know what we would want for them to get gerber or bryz to replace them

gerber is more movable, but bryz hasn't shown enough to be relied on as a backup, he could do it no problem I'm guessing, but it could also squelch his development

Strictly from a horseflesh standpoint, I don't see a deal. The players that Edmonton would be willing to give up for Gerber probably wouldn't crack the Ducks top two lines, and a lower-line forward isn't worth a solid backup goalie.

I don't think we could expect more than a middling pick or prospect, or a journeyman in exchange for Gerbs.

I was thinking something more like Chimera+5th or 2nd and 4th pick but if u guys need to wait a year before before Gerber becomes expendable thats cool.

Cool down. It's not a done deal . Basically I would like to have Torres in Anaheim (we could use his grit), so put some picks around Gerbs if you want to... But remember, Gerber could be a No. 1 Goalie on some teams... Chimera + 5th seems ok to start dealing

The goalie market is kind of flooded right now there is a lot of teams with more than 1-2 goalies with no.1 goalie starter potential and Gerber is quite a bit better than Hurme who only went for a 4th in the current market but not so much better that he deserves to nab no.1 pick type talent

True. That's why some good guys are wasting time as backup or even in the minors... Anyways, the jury is still out on Torres whether he can be a first liner or a energy third line player. The Oilers have some fine forward prospects in Rita, Stoll and Niinimäki and they could decide Torres is expendable. And at 22 he is not that young anymore. Sure it's a risk for the Oilers because Torres could break out someday, but my feeling is, because Gerber is solid and cheap, it is not too far off. Just my opinion, perhapes I'm wrong.

Obviously you do not understand sarcasm...I have seen this before in Kings fans as they never are able to reach that level of humor....their home schooling has a major influence on this

For Gerber...maybe Ethan Moreau and a mid level prospect.

For Bryz...probley Comrie or one of your really good prospects since Bryz is a highly touted prospect himself...I'd take Georges Laraque for him!
