I don't know if I'll make it past the 1st period tonite, as the Cubs series has me wiped out, on sports!
Anyhow, it should be an interesting game, to see how are youth respond, to the increased ice time they will recieve with all of our injuries.
Will AMONTE score???

San Jose is going to come out hungry tonight as they haven't found much success yet in the early parts of this season. Hope the Flyers can play a Western Conference game this early. Seems so far that the Eats has been having problems with a free flow offensive scheme aka Ottawa against LA last night. We need to play 3 solid periods of 60 minutes and i have no doubt we can take these guys. Our big line has to come out fired up and i hope to see Gags and Amonte on the scoreboard.

Flyers win 4-1

Sucks that I have Nabokov on my fantasy team and I have to root against him, especially since he hasn't done jack for me yet.

Should be a good game, it's nice to get to see the West teams every now and then-though it'll be a late one.

Also, it will be interesting to seen Kane for the first time.

I think that puck was in, but you couldn't see the puck in the net.

With the "defense first at ALL costs" mentality of today's coaches, unfortunately it's not so much of a rarity to have two 0-0 OT ties in one night. I remember when the Flyers-Rags had a 0-0 tie back around '81, it was such an unheard of thing that the media made a big deal about it. We're seeing more and more of it.....

The power play woes continue! 5-3, 5-4 for4 minutes, and NOTHING!
Exactly what the hell do they do at practice? There is no excuse if this power play is inept again this season!
Nice shutout for Hackett, but this game is as good as a loss, in my book!

Hackett is undefeated with no goals against. Maybe this will last long enough for a record of some sort?

Finally we get the goaltenidng, yet we lose the offence (OH wait, did we ever have that? ) I watched the whole game and we deserved to lose. Had it not been for Hackett we probably would have. Our PP stunk once again but at least our PK was outstanding. I don't know what's up with our first line but it looks like the only one trying is JR. He was throwing his body around everywhere last night, but Gags and Amonte were invisible. Get Gagné off that line, it ain't working. The best fit in there would be Rex, he and JR compliment each other well.

Now a look at the positives:

we got a point we didn't really earn
We are still undefeated
Hackett is doing his part and more

I wouldn't go that far, we also killed off a lengthy 5-on-3, and a bumch of other power plays. In 3 games we have 3 PP goals.

John, We need to bury a puck, on a 5 on 3, especially against a team like San Jose! I see no improvement, so far, in our powerplay. Lots of pretty passing, but nothing to show for it.

2 PP goals in the first game.
1 PP goal in the second game.

On pace for 82 PP goals, where we had in the 40's last year.

They had their chance last night and didn't bury them. Desjardins ripped one off the post, Nabby made a great save on Gagne, and a Gagne rebound hit a Sharks defenseman skate with an open net.

Three games in and the PP has already won us one game. Not perfect yet, but looks better and is performing better than last year.

Last year the PP started out strong too, I still feel, that to be an elite team, you need to bury a puck, on a 5 on 3, especially against the weaker Defensive teams, like the Sharks.

Agreed that you have to score when you get a lengthy 5-on-3, but they did also kill a long 5-on-3 that the Sharks had.

I think the Sharks will be good defensively, but will struggle to score goals.

Here's the sad part. I had to work last night and I was going out with co-workers after, so I taped the game. When I saw the (ahem) score, I just didn't bother to watch it when I got home. So here is a question;

Who do I have to give a reach around to to get the top line to score?!? It's killing me. Just get the puck in the net. They've all done it before, so just do it again.

Sorry. Frusterated.

PP and PK are two different things.
