Dan McGillis waived

Any chance that Philly might want him back with the current injuries they have on D? $2.2 mill this years. UFA in 07. Thoughts?

Only as a temporary IR replacement for Desjardins. Then again being that he skated up to the bench and was audibly heard to have called Hitchcock a Fat **** the last time we played. As a player I like him, but his history here might make him unwelcome.

That's great Fat f.

He's not a bad player, he just didn't fit in NJ. The games he sat for us, we went 0-4.

He had his best year in Philly. He ever scored a goal for you guys last week.

He sucks, he was traded because he couldnt play under Hitch in the clutching and grabbing era, imagine what hed be like now when hes not even allowed to do that.

Id only take him at 500K to keep Therien on the bench but I doubt anyone will take him at $2.2m although someone might at $1.1m

2.2 is way too much for McGillis - though he's better than Therien. Then again, so is every other defenseman in the NHL

In today's Boston Globe, KPD proposed a S. McEachern for D. McGillis deal. McEachern is currently in the AHL.

McGillis was dealt because he was a deer in headlights under Hitchcock. Nothing in his play since then indicates he wouldn't be again.

Here is a Larry Brooks' column form today (12/21). As a point of reference, the Devils were his pre-season pick to win the Cup in '06 as the 7th seed in the East.
