I hope Gonchar gets traded.
I don't mind seing LeClair get traded.
Palffy, alot of Pens fans still want him to stay. I can't say I want him to be traded. But he's definetely not playing like a 4.5mil$ player.

It could be a firedonation and the Pens would be SOL

Why they locked up guys like Gonchar to fat, long term contracts when that was the opposite of what the "new NHL" was supposed to be was beyond me. And here I was thinking that even giving out a 3 year contract was going to be a big risk, and you should only give that to guy's you plan to build your team around.

As no one but Crosby has really played well all season, I am still with holding final judgment on the new guys. Dissapointing most definitely, but I'm not ready to start dealing everyone. I would try and trade Tarnstrom, but his value is so low right now I doubt we would get anything significant for him. Defintely not a stay at home we need, even in a package deal.

In this day and age of the cap, it would hard to have a fire sale due to the fact that there aren't that many teams that absorb salary and give prospects/draft picks away.

The money the Bruins freed up in the Thornton and Scatchard deals and by waiving McEachern?

The Bruins have more cap money available due to their recent transactions.

Gonchar isn't going anywhere. No one is going to take his contract (four more years after this season).

Maybe I shouldn't have this attitude as an Isles fan - but I hope Pitt turns it around, Gonchar and Palffy prove their worth, and the Pens make a run at a playoff spot.

That still leaves the Bruins payroll at about $35 million. They "might" be able to fit Palffy's money under the cap......but it would be really tight.

I like the Pens too. They have some promising young talent, a great hockey heritage and Mario is a class act. I hope they flourish and remain in Pittsburgh.

That said, I think Palffy and Gonchar are doing a splendid job proving their worth this season...and it's well below their current contracts.

With a salary cap no. They all have remaining years and $$$ that the other 29 teams can't handle for the most part.

Sharks could use Palffy to play with Marleau or Thornton!

If Palffy went to the Sharks I would go on a shooting spree. Where did you say you lived?

Boston needs a top pivot,so I doubt they waist what money they have left on Palffy.

They're at $34.3 if you include Boynton (who's on IR right now but has an LTI). Plus, at this point Palffy would only count about $2.8 million. The B's would still have about $2-3 million under the cap if they add Palffy straight up tomorrow.

If somone would take Gonchar or Leclair, I'm sure the Pens would be happy.

Palffy goes nowhere.
