**OFFICIAL** GDT 12/17 - Kings vs. Coyotes

Game Time: 7:30 PM PST | 10:30 PM EST
Location: Staples Center | Los Angeles, CA
TV Broadcast: Fox Sports Net
Radio Broadcast: KSPN AM 710
Online broadcast: Kings Webcast | NHL Radio

  • In his first career NHL game, Petr Kanko scored his first goal which tied the game up in the 3rd period against the Ducks.
  • Luc Robitaille was a healthy scratch for Friday night's game versus the Ducks.
  • Click Here for the radio schedule of the LA Kings.
  • Click Here for the television schedule of the LA Kings.
  • Click Here For the Kings roster.

Quotable:

"There seems to be so many good goalies [who] come out of that [Quebec] junior league and a lot of them play the same way. But did you see Matty do the splits on that [Niedermayer] save? Every time he does that, I hurt for him. If I tried that, I'd break my leg." - Eric Belanger

"We had a lot of fans here. We feel like we are home." - Pavol Demitra on the Kings fans at the Pond

"I totally disagree with what's going on. After playing five minutes, I thought I would go back in after losing such a big game. It doesn't make sense to me. In the past, if a coach didn't play me a lot and we lost, he thought maybe it was time to give this guy a chance." - Luc Robitaille on being a healthy scratch for the 6th time in his 19-year career in the NHL

"I think Luc is like any other player…. I shouldn't say that, he's is not like any other player. That's why it is so tough when it comes to making these decisions. But by the same token, you're trying to win hockey games." - Andy Murray

"He's disappointed, he wants to play and I wouldn't expect him to react any differently. Andy is going to dress his 12 best players, but I talked to Luc and asked him to stay positive. He will get a chance to be back out there." - Dave Taylor

Injury Update:

Has Garon been confirmed as the starter? I think he did great last night. But I do not know about giving him starts on back to back games.

Your GDT's are a thing of beauty. Great job.

We Coyotes fans are hoping Boucher has a good first game back from injury. I'm really surprised Luc is a healthy scratch against us...he usually plays great. Should be a rockin' affair tonight.

What do you guys think of this game? Will the Kings be tired from the Ducks game or will they come out hungry for another victory?

I hope that we give Boucher a bad start of the season (nothing against him, I just want another two points)

It's really hard to tell from night to night which team will show up. I have seen this team play like one of the elite teams in the league......but they have also played like one of the worst teams in the league. They are really frustrating to watch.

Let's just hope that they are hungry and play a great game tonight (the way we've been playing lately, hope is all I have left). I stayed up for the Ducks game and I will probably stay up for this one too.

The worst thing about beeing a Kings fan in Sweden (besides the fact that we s*** right now): the home games starts at 4.30 in the morning...

Maybe so maybe not. Bear in mind that Boucher is coming off an excellent conditioning stint in San Antonio with a not-so-great team in front of him. Here are the numbers, for the curious.

Agreed......although I would love to see Kanko get alot more ice-time out there. He actually looked like he wanted the puck on his stick......Imagine that.

I expect us to get completely outplayed and outworked tonight as usual. The only way we win this game is if Garon plays as well as he did last night.

4-2 Coyotes.

Actually it was in the Kanko is called up thread. But I think it is catchy. I would put it on a posterboard at the game. If I could actually attend one.

The first game I ever saw was Kings - Habs, 5th final game when Montreal won the cup. I know the normal way is to start rooting for the team that wins the first game you see, or has a player from your country that you like, but for some reason I liked the Kings more than Canadiens.

Pre-Game Rap Record: 1-0.

Ok Phoenix mission accomplished if you were tryna vex me,
You need a good team to impress me, not just have ya coach be Gretzky, get ready/
We added the 'underdog line' so prepare to have ya brains blown,
To beat the Kings you gonna need a little more than Shane Doan/
Its like ya team was built to have your season thrown away,
Trust me, Jeremy Roenick remembers Denis Gauthier/
'Yotes just stay home, you wont be beatin the Kings,
Dreamin of the Cup but Pascal Rheaume isn't the key/
Your team doesn't stand a chance, when mine comes out,
Boucher has been sh-t, ever since he got those five shutouts/
Whats with Phoenix's losing trend, shouldn't they try to win instead?
You guys are a disgrace to the Pacific please go back to Winnipeg/
Gonna make you the Kings bi-ches, you are now L.A.'s Apprentice,
Givin you an L, take it as an early Christmas present/
See theres no excuses as to why you play so poor,
F-ck around with the Kings and gonna get a 'KANKO-Sore"/
Just give us the W, yeah the 'Yotes blow,
Pre-Game Record 1-0, now sing Go-Kings-Go!

Very good, just like the one yesterday!
