Anyone watching the Isles-Leafs game?

4-4 end of 1... hysterical...

US Olympic goaltender and (most probably one of the) Canadian Olympic goaltender(s) in quite a "battle"

Actually most people who have speculated on the Canadian roster don't have Belfour on their roster.

personally, I think Brodeur, Belfour and Luongo are the logical three... but I know both Theodore and Turco are dark horses...

6-4 Leafs (they were down 4-2)... exit Dipietro, enter Snowman...

I think it's going to be Brodeur, Luongo & Theodore.

From what the Canadian "experts" have been saying, the third spot behind Brodeur and Luongo is between Cujo and I guess Turco...they really haven't mentioned Belfour at all...but I guess it doesn't really matter what they say...it's up to the management.

Sundin has 2 shorthanded points. Oh, and don't worry, they pulled Dipietro about halfway through. His GAA is about 12 for this game.

it's 8-5... amusingly, if the Isles get a garbage goal, Dipietro will be off the hook and the loss will go to Snow.

I can't help but imagine that it might be better to have the loss go to the goaltender who allowed the most goals, with the game-winner being the tiebreaker. With the current system, a team could allow the first 6 goals, yank their goaltender, then tie the score with 6 unanswered goals and finally lose 7-6. Even though his team outscored the other team 6-1 while he was on the ice, the replacement 'tender still gets the loss. It seems rather unfair, but I guess it's not the end of the world.

I have always hated this rule within the NHL, and tonight, Garth Snow gets the loss... it's 9-6 Toronto... The rule should be more like baseball...

I never really got the winning/losing goalie bit, much less baseball's winning/losing pitcher. These are really team games, and attributing a win or loss to one player, although probably a significant contributor, is stretching things too far. Our mania for measurement, I suppose.

Almost did that on the Dec 13th in the Detroit-Atlanta game.
