Considering the standings on the site, the season has not started yet, and Slovan is already outside the playoffs zone.

just like last year, i already entered all 30 homegames manually in my outlook, which took me 10 minutes and i also sent it to my smartphone calender..

Marek Daloga should play in first home game for Slovan.

Yes, you can also cut off electricity in your home and use candle-light instead. You could certainly live with that, too. But because it's 2016 and supposedly the world's second-best hockey league, one expects certain standards from its participants.

The calendar still isn't available, 1 game played into the new season. Now compare that to the NHL and my favorite team there – the LA Kings calendar for the new season has automatically updated itself in my Google Calendar weeks ago, even though the season there only starts in October. (And no, I don't mean the crappy calendar by Google itself that bombards you with spoilers; it's the calendar I downloaded from LA Kings' website a year ago, and it automatically updated itself for the new season once the NHL schedule for the new season was released.) Sigh. Hopefully, Slovan (and the KHL at large) can get to that level of professionalism one day.

Match vs Lada won't even be broadcasted. Most of the highlights look totally amateurish. Some rinks don't have HD cameras. How is this all even possible in year 2016?

Yeah, it's been know for quite some time Russian population has no idea what clean hit is, it was especially obvious when hitting became trendy few years ago. It's calmed down a bit now, but still. Disciplinary committee is reviewing it though so Zakharchuk should get well deserved rest for at least 3 games.

..finally calendar is there..
and i dont want compare with NHL-beside level of playing of course..
i can only speak about florida panthers, as i also live in FL a few months a year-and they are one of the cheaper ones..parking 20 $, drink+burger 20 $, seats if you dont want sit up in the sky where you cant see anything, around 100 $ per game (1 or 2 nd row amazing 200-300 $) + stupid ticketmaster fees ..
i dont want this here in KHL or bratislava- i am happy to pay 340 € for my season ticket, free parking, hot dog 1,50 ...for that i dont complain to wait for stupid calender

Yeah overall a really nice game of hockey with a happy ending. Refs are really making Torpedo one of the most hated teams for me although themselves they are harmless or borderline likeable. Other than probably ugliest jerseys in the league.

In a interview, Riha stated that there are some talks with a potential great replacment for Smoleňák. Do you have any idea who it could be about ?

Jozef Stümpel! Just kidding.

I hope, it will be some Slovak player. Maybe Tomas Kopecky?

Tomas Kopecky is pretty much the same as Stumpel, so I hope you were just kidding as well.

Either way, from the interview with coach Milos Riha (free translation):
Coach, are you going to share 10 % out of your august wage with your assistants? They substituted you very well.
“If I receive it, then yes (laugh).”

Marcel Hossa is still without team, he would fit the role, in theory.

Marcel Hossa is one of the least favourite players among Slovan fans. Moreover, he is a weak player.

This guy was being mentioned -- http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=8675
he also had some troubles with Slovan fans (LOL), but at least he can play hockey, so who cares...

He can play hockey but he can't score goals which has to be some kind of priority when picking a replacement for your best goalscorer, I'd imagine. Also, Chipchura has to play wing on this team as it, how many centers who can't score to save their life does the team need?

It wont be Novotný. He has some health problems and will be out pretty much the same length as Smoleňák. Judging by the interview, it seemed Řiha was the one who handling the process of finding a player. If my feeling is true, then it will probably be a Czech or Slovak. Another puzzling thing is the word "excellent".

Here are a few SK/CZ agents who are still available...

http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=9615 Vojtech Polak
http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=9642 Tomáš Kopekcý
http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=4532 Marcel Hossa

A bit crazy but why not...
http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=8605 Jiri Tlusty ???
http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=9613 Tomas Fleischman ???

Other excellent players still available
http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=4342 Ryan Vesce
http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=9360 Devin Setoguchi
http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=12382 Ryan Lasch

Most of these players are unrealistic at this date and time, but still interesting to see how many good players are still available.

Slovan really aren't getting Tlusty or Fleischman at this point of the season, before NHL camps even begin. Also, I suppose they spent quite a bit of cash on Daloga so this can't be a grade A player wage-wise, that excludes Seto and Lasch from the list. Tomas Rachunek? He is still without contract and Slovan may give him another try, also the whole familiarity aspect.

Well yeah, it won't be Novotný then. But Smoleňák was never supposed to be the best goalscorer. Vesce would be amazing, he also fits the description of Říha about a "top-quality replacement".
And Rachunek? Another try? Please...

With Cheechoo playing the way he is lately Smolenak is de facto your best goalscorer. I think you are putting too much value into Riha's words, where would Slovan get the money for players like Vesce? Not to mention that again, Vesce is a center and is completely different player. When you are trying to replace someone you are looking for something similar I think, not something completely different.

I think out of players mentioned Kopecky, Polak and Rachunek are the only real candidates, Kopecky being the likeliest one. Kopecky also somewhat fits that "excellent, top quality" mold with experience, Stanley cup, veteral leadership and other intangibles coaches like and overvalue.
