OT: Team Canada Under 30

This is why Canada will win it all in the Olympics.

I was looking over rosters and I realized -- wow, Canada is very young. So I selected my own team Canada, with nothing but players under 30 (not including 30, which would include McCabe and St Louis). Here's my picks:

13 Forwards:
J. Thornton (26)
J. Spezza (22)
B. Richards (25)
S. Crosby (18)
E. Staal (21)
D. Heatley (24)
P. Marleau (26)
S. Gagne (25)
A. Tanguay (26)
V. Lecavalier (25)
R. Nash (21)
J. Iginla (28)
M. Comrie (25)

7 Defensemen:
W. Redden (28)
D. Phaneuf (21)
B. Stuart (26)
J. Bouwmeester (22)
E. Brewer (26)
B. Jackman (24)
R. Regehr (25)

3 Goaltenders:
R. Luongo (26)
J. Giguere (28)
A. Raycroft (25)

That's just not fair.

In terms of sheer number of players and individual talent, Canada is still the world's leader for hockey and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

However these tournaments are often all about team chemistry the team that clicks the best is going to be the winner.

USA isn't going to be the most skilled team on paper but their probably going to be a very good, hard working group.

I think it's pretty open this year. There are a few teams I think you could make a very solid case for.

Define "easily". Wait, don't, because it's just not going to happen.

I would be happy with us getting a medal the way it has looked the last few tries... But BÅG has to be better than Hardy Nilsson (complete jackass) so we might have a CHANCE to take the gold but it won't go down easy.

To be honest I don't like this team at all to what it could have been. I think the Russians and Sweeds have better rosters. Why no Marty? Luongo I seen play two weeks ago and looked HORRIBLE. That goaltending is anything but solid. Atleast they will be a really fast skating team.

No Marty because this is an UNDER 30 team I put together.

Luongo will be fine. He just recently turned away 53 of 55 shots for a 3-2 win. He just needs to be on a better team. Florida's defense is atrocious, and their forwards don't backcheck much either.

Russia has crazy top end talent, but no depth. Ovechkin, Kovalchuk, Datsyuk, Zherdev, Malkin... all young, top notch talents.

Who's going to play center for this club? Datsyuk, Zhamnov, Yashin, Kozlov? I'll take my chances with Sakic, Thornton, Lecavalier, Richards, Staal, or Spezza.
