Looking for a book/website about coaching Positioning in all each zone

Hi,

I am looking to design a 2d sprite hockey game and want very accurate artificial intelligence. I figure to do this I will need to know the best positioning and common mistakes people make in regards to positioning. I want to not just know the best positions, but understand why they are the best.
