That was the best shift I've seen from a Buffalo team in about 5 years.

That was Vanek's best shift ever as a Sabre. Holy crap, talk about effort + skill coming together beautifully. The way he had the puck behind the net like that he looked like one of the league's best.

Funny thing was - right at the beginning of that shift when Vanek got tied up with Campoli and kept the puck in, I was thinking to myself, "if they score a goal here, it'll be because of that play by Vanek". Beautiful.

Agreed, it was a thing of beauty. Too bad they couldn't cap it off with a goal.

Were they booing Zhitnik too? I can understand booing Miro, but that's just pretty classless by our fans if they're booing Z too.

Buffalo fans should be happy that Z is on the Islanders PP.

I love how Lydman and Tallinder clear the puck out of the zone.

So do I. What I also love about them is how they pinch to keep the puck in the oppositions zone. Toni Lydman is the master at it.

I saw one of the linesmen or refs duck when he shot it into the Buffalo zone...

Funny thing is, at this point, Garth "Equipment" Snow is stealing a win for the Isles.

Drury adds another point... And another - in the +/-. He's what...? -11 now? Ugh, I'm loving his production, but his line is getting pretty much beat at ES on most nights.

Fitzy is playing well.
Miller is getting better, but not much work to speak of (14 shots faced through 2).

Too many DUMB hooking penalites.

Derek, get your stick on the ice!

If Buffalo wins this game the end result will be typical Sabres hockey. Outwork, outshoot, and perservere to the victory.

Miller looked better in the 2nd. I just hate when we deserve to be destroying this team and we are going to have to battle to get a point tonight.

I never knew Pominville played with such intensity, I never thought of him as a hard working type. TV is having an excellent game - as is Tallinder.

Wish I could see it. I won't be around much the next week, but I thought I'd chime in and wish the Sabres good luck.

Ah, one of my xmas presents: tickets for the Bruins/Sabres game 3/25 in Boston. I haven't seen the Sabres in person in WAY too long. 3 years, maybe?

I know the Sabres have had alot of PP time tonight, but we need to see more of Mair, Goose, and Paille here in the third.

And there's the Goose line drawing a penalty...OK, PP time. Nothing fancy, just get the puck to the net. Time for an ugly goal.

There should be a new rule - if a player knocks Hecht off his skates without an open ice check, it should be an instant penalty because they obviously tripped him or hauled him down, heh.

^^^ KB - That was a pretty nice goal.

lol on Snow's lateral movement, or lack thereof. This guy's nothing without boat oars for shoulder pads.

Thanks. Can't wait. I'll be the bald guy in the 300s somewhere with a white Satan jersey. Hopefully my wife won't wear her Bruins sweater

And YAY for Campbell/hecht...whoever scored.
