we are getting manhandled in our own end.

these goals aren't Weekes' fault, but he never should have started to begin with. Its Henrik time.

I am all for using 2 goalies but Renney has to make a decision. Lundqvist clearly has to be the #1 and needs to be in there the majority of the time.

Is Jagr paying attention? Those slapshots seem to prove him wrong just a bit.

I see no reason why they can't split time. I just think Henrik is clearly the hot hand right now and should have gotten the start.

After how much that 4th line sparked the Sens, with McGrattan nailing everyone, I want you all to tell me Orr wouldn't be more useful than Hossa tonight who has done nothing and has had like a shift.

rangers are playing way too timid. yeah, ottawa is a scary team, but you can't beat them by playing tentative. and that's exactly what the rangers are doing. that, and turning the puck over in the neutral zone for no apparent reason

they can get their chances if they stop playing like scared girls

What a joke that period was, horrible penalties and weekes not there to make the timely saves when needed.

First Period Evaluation:

1. Rangers are continuing their classic undisciplined style spending about half the period in the box with Ottawa on the PP.
2. Offense is struggling, the Rangers are getting checked too much to get anywhere in the offensive zone.
3. Weekes & the D. D has sucked this period. I still dont understand how Renney decided to put in Weekes. Lundqvist was great on Thursday night...play the hot goalie, not a cold one. Is Renney trying to look like a smart*** putting Weekes in net? This whole " let him watch the game " is a load of garbage. Giguare ( cant spell ) played in the SCF as a rookie, thats bigger then some regular season game. 4 goals later, Renney has returned out of la-la land.

Anyone agree with my comments?

I don't think anyone would disagree with you on that. I don't like Hossa to begin with.

BTW, I think Renney's idea with starting Weekes was to give him a big game to try and win for his confidence. He knows he's not the starter and I wouldn't want a mopey back-up at all.

I agree, but I must point fingers. Roszival, horrid turnover. Moore, horrid turnover. What has Hossa done this period, please let me know if he was visible to any of you? I sure as hell know Colton Orr or Jason Strudwick woulda been out there responding to some of those HUGE, ENERGZING checks which McGrattan was throwing. Hollweg's a great player, but you don't want him throwing the body and playing like a bad *** in a game where you don't have Orr or Strudwick in the lineup, and the other team has McGrattan, Neil, and Chara. This team is clearly intimidated. Having Orr or Struddy in would have helped as I said in the beginning. And most of all...I don't even know what to say about Weekes being in net. Not that they were all his fault but again...team just plays better with Henry. If you wanna give rookies a chance to watch, why is Drats in over Struddy? Get with it Tommy

giguire wasn't a rookie

this team isn't intimidated by ottawa's checking ability, it's intimidated by their offensive prowess.
