Hatcher out 4-6 Months

WDFN 1130am is reporting Derian Hatcher has a torn ACL. He was hurt in yesterdays game against Vancouver.

No actually links yet. But WDFN is almost always accurate

:Edit: TSN.CA has it under their breaking news.

wow... didn't see that coming...

I didn't even notice him missing last night, until the annoucers were wondering where he went... took them a while to figure out he was no longer in the game or on the bench (mind you I was watching a CND telecast, and Detroit announcers must have caught it a lot quicker)...

feel bad for him being hurt for such a long time, but can't say I'm too disappointed being a rival fan... sounds like the Fischer situation of last year all over again... guess it means that Woolley can get some icetime now.

I saw the replay. He and Bryan Allen got crossed up. However, it looked like a nothing play, I can't believe he got hurt off a little play like that. I was expecting a day-to-day type thing.

WOW!

Expect Niklas Kronwall to be called up. Woolley has been out with the flu lately too.

When I saw it, I thought it had nothing to do with the play, it looks like his skate caught something...the ice at JLA was particularly bad last night, it burned quite a few players...too bad Hatcher is the only one with the permanent injury.

the replay showed he and Allen got mixed up together. Just a freak accident. If anything was bad last night, it was the glass. WOW.

Which means he's doing an utterly good job. He's either on your side and you love him because of it, or he's with the enemy and because he's such a b*tch to play against, you hate him..

Hatcher didn't get a Norris consideration for nothing..

I also thought that the ice was very bad last night too... too many players getting their skates caught, and not skating as well as they usually do.

I believe it was also commented on a few times during the play-by-play.

Being a Wings fan. were used to seeing Devereaux and Draper fall all the time.

But your right, it wasn't great last night. I dont remember if anything happened at JLA between games (concets, etc).

Stevens isn't exactly momma's little boy either so I dunno if you carry much credibillity saying that.

And how can Derian elbow players with his stick? I know he's funny looking but he doesn't have weird elbows with sticks sticking out..

WOW!
That's exacly how it happened to Gilmour

Evidently, Hatcher didn't practice on game days, and on some days before game days last year. The guy is pretty close to breaking down. Unless Detroit wins it all, they are really going to regret signing Hatch to 5 years a couple of years from now.

This sucks. I was hoping to see him match up against my Avs. He's the kind of player who could have really refueled this slowly dying rivalry.

Stevens is dirtier. He goes for the head, and he triest to knock the player out. He effectively ended WIllis' career, and hurt Lindros' career badly. I don't think thats something you can say for Hatcher.

just because Stevens Hits are with in the rules, doesnt mean they are clean.

you're saying that Stevens hits within the rules - doesn't break the rules in his hits... yet his hits are dirty??

could you explain that?

Hah! Don't get me started on that! That could have been very dangerous, if Daniel Sedin went in at an oblique angle, instead of straight through.
