Arsenal Gooners for me.

Increased TV coverage has allowed me to get into it more. At first I just watched with no team allegiance. Then I kind of let the selection happen organically. Previously knew of Man U and Chelsea but not much else, and didn't want to jump on the bandwagon of a frontrunner or pick a team with a story I couldn't stomach. Liked Arsenal's reputation, logo, geography, kit, etc so it fit.

Also partial to Barcelona for the talent and history. Didn't realize there was so much background beyond sports, particularly with the RM rivalry.

edit: oh, and I find myself liking Suarez and Costa for some reason. And would love to see Willian with Arsenal.

Ugh, can't stand Chelsea for some reason. Probably (definitely) Diego Costa. I also don't like Man U... not a big fan of bandwagons.

I've always found myself partial to Juventus (I have family in that area and am planning to go to Juventus Stadium whenever I get across the pond to visit them) and Liverpool (love the singing of YNWA... one of my favorite traditions in sports). Also kind of partial to the Gunners for some reason. I think it's because they remind me of the Caps in that they play an attractive brand of soccer and always blow it when it matters.
Costa is tough to like even as a Chelsea fan. He's crawling back to La Liga this summer anyway IMO. Juve is a strong team to root for. Send Cuadrado back intact this summer thanks!

Arsenal I like, but Wenger I can't stand. Ruined them for me. Liverpool was probably a close 2nd when I was choosing my rooting interests.

Epic, epic meltdown from Arsenal. Wenger's refusal to get a stud centerback is biting them in the ass.

When Carroll is on his game he is going to be a handful in the air for anyone. And since he hadn't started a league game in forever it wouldn't have made a whole lot of sense IMO to set out a lineup with him in mind. So in that sense it was a brilliant changeup from Bilić to give him the start and likely an easier one to make since Gabriel, who was simply terrible yesterday, had been Koscielny's regular partner recently. If you are Wenger and think Carroll is likely to start you almost certainly start Mertesacker instead but why would you have thought that? Plus the two headed goals were over the fullbacks.

I'm with you in that the number one offseason priority I would like Wenger to address is adding a top class central defender though.

Funny thing is, one of their star guys Dele Alli was playing in The English League 1 against my team Chesterfield only last year. Now I'm not sure how to get across to an American audience how poor the quality is there compared to the Premier League. I don't think even comparing it to US College football/hockey is fair on college football/hockey. The jump he made to not only look 'not out of place' but to, in effect, dominate, is absolutely crazy. I'm not sure if I've ever seen a player do that so quickly

Unfortunately (now), I'm an AC Milan fan. Always loved their kits and colors as a kid and would pick them to play as in manager mode just for that reason. I don't watch a lot of their games anymore since they have basically been reduced to an average squad with all the issues that have gone on.

I've found myself watching more Dortmund games recently since that Pulisic kid started getting PT on their first squad. Here's an excerpt about him from an ESPN article:

Quote:
Christian Pulisic, who was given his senior USA debut in a recent friendly against Guatemala, was one of the beneficiaries of Tuchel's rotation, and he went close to scoring his first goal for the club.

Tuchel never had any qualms about picking the 17-year-old.

"He's still in our youth team and his first two starts have come against Leverkusen and today in Schalke," Tuchel said.

"There are certainly easier ways to start, but that just shows how highly we rate him, and that we see him as an integral part of our squad.

"He was valuable to us as a substitute against Werder [Bremen] and Liverpool and he's been looking fresh lately, and he showed that again today."

Not losing to Lüdenscheid in the Revierderby made my weekend. Could have won it, but was probably the best performance of the Rückrunde, showed fight for once and what we need to do to continue the fight for champions league. The Neverkusen game in a couple of weeks now really is the most important game of the season.

That would be great. How could they drop the ball in a game like this? They just had to score a bloody goal and the game was won. **** Laurent Blanc and his experiments. Also, I thought Aurier should've gotten the boot for his comments in his video.

CR7 scores a hat trick to get his team in the next round. Unreal.

Verratti being injured and Matuidi being suspended had a big part to do with it. Thiago Motta getting injured in the first half also did not help atall. Take the main midfield trio out of any team and they won't do anywhere near aswell.

Still, what kind of setup was that? 3-5-2? All it took was a single goal.

Yeah I'm not sure why Blanc changed the formation up. It looks like they had the guys to stick with their normal formation unless the feeling was that there was no way either Moura or Pastore could last anyway close to 90 minutes.

They won't, Qatar probably paid FIFA a gigantic sum to get the 2022 WC. No way they go back on their decision.

RM drew Man. City in the semi-finals, Bayern is against Atleti. I think we will get a RM-Bayern final with RM winning their 11th CL.

If Qatar continues to give the finger to the rest of the world, FIFA will have no choice, or watch as major sponsors drop and public outcry increases. I'm surprised the heat hasn't been turned up sooner honestly. A few well done Twitter campaigns could probably fix that lol.

Aged 17 years, 6 months and 30 days, Pulisic became the fourth-youngest ever to score in Bundesliga history, and the youngest to not hold a German passport.
