Tampa-Colorado Proposal

Avs Get:
Richards (3.4)
Burke(1.6)
Dingman (570k)
=5.57 million

Tampa Gets:
Blake (6.4)
Budaj (450k)
McLean(450k)
Conditional Pick (1st rounder if Blake leaves, 3rd rounder if he resigns)
=7.3 million

Of course Blake would have to waive his no trade for this to happen, but I think it is a team that he might go to in terms of its ability to win.

Avs get help up front to balance out the lines, Burke while not being stellar for Tampa would provide some vetern presence in the net at worst. Dingman is a throw in(or a payroll dump) in the deal.

Blake would bring a new presence to the Tampa blueline and make the group better as a whole. While he has struggled a bit out of the gate this year, his play is improving every game. Budaj is a young goalie with potential, and Mclean would fill out the 4th line center roll.

The payroll difference would be slighly less due to part of the season already being gone, but I don't know a thing about Tampa's cap situation though..

Terrible deal. Richards is worth more then the entire Colorado package.

I'll agree, and if Colorado makes a move for a goalie, it'll be someone more valuable than Burke. If they wanted an old vet like Burke, they might as well go sign Felix Potvin.

I can't see the Avs wanting Burke, and I doubt Tampa wants to pay Blake's salary, we're way too close to the cap for that. What Tampa needs more than anything is for the current players to get their heads out of their ***es, I can't see us moving Richards to get an upgrade on D that's not really a huge need right now. That is not to suggest I can see us moving Richards for any other purpose either.

Really doesn't help Colorado, Richards is an amazing player, heck I think he would become a near perfect Sakic clone once Sakic retires, but to be honest the Avs main problem right now is in the defensive end. With Richards they would probably score about 4-5 goals a game and let in 6-7 goals a game.

Like to have Richards, but Burke's wonky back wouldn't help the goaltending situation much. And as for trading today the pivot is filled by turgeon.

Tampa (or anybody) wouldn't want Blake for that.

Terrible trade for both teams. TB lose Richards and Col think Burke is the answer to their goaltending problems?

No, we really would not. We want Brad Richards, not Blake, or players A,B,C, and D and 6 draft picks. Richards is a player that can not be replaced and only comes along every so often.

I'd think Lacroix would be more interested in local boy Grahame.

If the Avs were out of the playoffs race and wanted to dump Blake at the deadline I doubt we'd get any takers. He'd be a 1.6 cap hit even at the deadline.
