Great news! So excited about next year with this signing and possibly an NHL ready prospect at the draft as well.

Bit of a surprise? Another player to replace one of Burmi, Stafford, Armia, Dano, Peluso, Lowry, Thorburn, Halischuk.....

Great to see. Felt bad for him losing out on the Hobey Baker, but it's not really a league MVP award. Glad we don't have to start worrying about a senior season

Agreed. This seems high for an ELC.

Really happy to see this. I was pretty sure it was going to happen, but I figured maybe not until after the draft. Stoked for next season.... Ehlers + Connor, the future lookin' bright.

Wheeler should definitely go to the Worlds now. Forget the CCM line at the WHC, I want to see Connor-Matthews-Wheeler.

Tanev is a completely different beast. He was an undrafted free agent signing, and signed at 24, so he only has to deal with 1 year as an RFA. There was really nothing being burnt, because there was nothing there to burn. There is no sliding for a 24 year old, AFAIK.

What's a Schedule A bonus? Does that part count against the cap?

Could he play for the Moose in their last 2 games (presumably on an ATO)?

I think those are standard performance bonuses and only count if he meets them. they then count against the next year's cap. anyone else know better?

Don't think so. He's not an 'A' anymore. Plus, because he was born after September 15, any time in the pros burns a year of his ELC, I think. Part of the reason there was no rush this year to bring him up, like the Jets did with Copp.

Excellent news, already looking forward to watching him in the prospects tourny. So he is listed as 6'1" 177lbs. As he matures he should top out around 185-190 which is certainly plenty big enough and combined with his excellent skating ability and quick hands should be fun to watch in a Jets uniform for years to come.

If the contract dpesnt start until 16-17 (likely but not cpnfirmed) then he vould join moose as ato.
