Really? you want to take a line that gave every team they played against absolute fits to contain and immediately break them apart. No, Connor and Mathews need to play with Thor

Bonuses dont count until hit. If hit they count against next years cap or carry over to year after if it puts team over cap.

1.77 is really low actually. Most top prospects have bonus included aav of 3 million plus.

after Connor goes through the rookie hazing ritual of playing on the same line with Thor.

Here's the rules for elcs:

- length can be 3 2 or 1 depending on age and where they're from
- Max 925k regular salary
- Max 92.5k signing bonus which does not slide
- performance bonuses are a bit complicated. You're allowed to go over the upper limit by 7.5% with bonuses. This is why it's great Connor didn't get a Max elc contract. A couple of those and it becomes difficult to bring up prospects when you're at the upper limit. This overage has nothing to do with if a bonus is triggered or not.

If bonuses are triggered and this puts a team over the cap a bonus overage occurs where a cap hit equal to the overage counts towards the following year. Chicago is dealing with this now with Panarin and dealt with it a few years ago with Toews. We actually had a small overage too because of Troubas first year.

Chevy dealt with this very well. Didn't burn his first year and got a very reasonable elc signed. You literally couldn't ask for more.

Super news. Not that he's on the same level, but here's hoping the Poolman is next

Everybody was all angry after the win on Saturday and bemoaning the absolute incompetence of the Jets management, and now it's swung totally around the other way with the news of this signing.

Connors may not make the team out of TC and could possibly spend the season with the Moose, just like Scheifele, Petan and Copp. I'm pleased at the signing also, but lets not get too far carried away just quite yet.

Good luck getting Chef through waivers to send him to the Moose

No way he's going to the Moose unless he totally falls flat on his face. Guaranteed top 9 on Jets to start & top 6 before 25 game mark.

ha - he'll play as many games in the ahl as ehlers did - i'd be willing to bet any amount of money that kyle connor starts the season in the nhl and never plays a single game with the moose

I would join you in this bet. I agree with troubabooster: he'll start on the 3rd line, and end up in the top 6 sometime during the season.
