Matt Ryan

The Kings are expected to call up center Matt Ryan from minor league Manchester. He would join the team in Dallas today - this is from the L.A. Times.

Any thoughts on this move?

Jerred Smithson all over again. I have hopes for Ryan, and he is Dustin Brown's buddy so you never know.

Yes, he's not subject to waivers therefore he gets the call. If he's in the lineup, I doubt that he'll get more than a handful of shifts for a total of 2-mins or so....

I am a big Matt Ryan guy.

I would have preferred Hogie, but Hogie's world domination tour does require him to be in Manchester a little longer.

They've recently announced an additional stop on the Hogie World Domination Tour.

Two dates have been added:

January 24: Save Mart Center, Fresno California; ECHL All-Star Skills Competition
January 25: Save Mart Center, Fresno California; 2006 ECHL All-Star Game

I think it's GREAT that the Kings are able to call up guys from their own developmental system like this. I don't care if Ryan isn't a top 6er...Belanger isn't and it's more than likely Ryan (if he even plays) will play on the 4th line.
