Dustin Browns contract

Just read the details on Browns contract in LA Daily News, and it looks like the Kings got him signed to a pretty good contract... He must have really wanted to get a chance to play this year!

Brown received a $1.54 million signing bonus when he agreed to terms on a three-year contract at the end of training camp.

With the Kings, he would receive $620,000 this season and $620,000 in 2004-05. The deal is $300,000 for the third year, but if he plays 70 games in his first two seasons, part of his signing bonus would be applied to his salary, which would become $920,000.

NHLPA.com lists his base salary at $1,240,000 for this season. They're usually bang on when it comes to salaries...

the salary was never an issue. it's a standard rookie salary cap deal that has certain bonuses built in to enhance the package.

I thought the standard contract payed a bit over $ 1 million a year + bonuses?
