Mike Keenan's greatest contribution to hockey...vetoing the 1996 St Louis Blues 3rd jersey.

I love it.

No really. I *love* it. Finally some originality in a jersey. No boring stripes and run-of-the-mill logo. This is different; has pizzaz; has that je ne sais quoi.

I mean really, isn't there anyone else out there sick of seeing basically the same format spewed out again and again? That is an awsome jersey that reeks of creativity and energy.

A concerned fan.

I agree with that... I think it's a very nice looking jersey... very different from the "generic" stuff that the NHL has been into lately.

What I really like about it is the colors--the mix of blue and yellow. I'm not a big fan of the music notes on the arms but overall I think it's a very nice design.

I think this is what Aristotle means when he talks about the Golden Mean.

The usual run of the mill jerseys on one end of the spectrum... THIS at the other. Somewhere in the middle is the key to being a functional person.

Can we just sticky a picture of this uniform? It comes up in every single jersey thread anyways.

I've noticed that myself. It doesn't look like a hockey jersey to me. The sizes are wrong, the arms look too small and too short, the texture of the material is wrong.

In fact, I'd say it looks like a mock up, a jersey from some soccer team, that someone added the St. Louis logo onto the shoulders as a joke. Notice that Cool Cat, the rejected mascot isn't wearing the jersey, he's wearing a normal one.

Does anyone from St. Louis have any actual evidence that this was the rejected jersey? Or is it just the case that this picture surfaced, and everyone assumes it's correct?

Pecafan... this jersey was published in a book put out by the Blues last year called 'Note by Note'. I own the book and I can confirm that that image was scanned right out of the book.

Probably because it's not a real hockey jersey.... Just the design put onto a shirt to show how it would look before wasting a bunch of money on production.
