I'm just thinking about this because Zubrus is playing against us today, but how did we end up losing him and did we get anything in return?

So Lindros essentially became Johnsson, Brashaer, Kapanen, and Bast?

without him though, who knows where this franchise would be. He pretty much singlehandedly got the Wachovia Center built and took us to the Finals in 1997.

Lindros was a great player. Not everyone could do the things he did on the ice. He was a force. It's a damn shame. Thats how I feel.

Let's be honest and give Lindros some credit. The guy was a real force when healthy. And he pulled the Flyers out of a "not making the playoffs" hole, i think.

I'm definitely NOT a Lindros fan...but i do remember some exciting moments courtesy of the bum. It's not his fault he is a member of a really screwed up family.

That Handzus & Esche deal looks a bit one sided...no?? Was Fletcher working for the Flyers when pretending to be a GM in Phoenix?

Boucher had high trade value at the time, and Esche had bloated numbers.

March 10, 1999 -- Flyers sent Zubrus, their 2nd round 1999 pick (Habs chose Matt Carkner) and the Islanders' 6th round 2000 pick (Habs chose Scott Selig) to Montreal for Mark Recchi.

Side note: Selig, who attended Thayer Academy (ala JR and Tony Amonte), was the 172nd player taken in that draft; Roman Cechmanek was the 171st.
