I'd like that too but tragically naming arenas has everything to do with money these days. If the Howe family came up with $140MM I'm sure the arena would be name after Gordie Howe in a heartbeat.

I would get it when I was in my younger teens when they had the pick up for 5 bucks (or 6) special. When I had it again a few years later, I couldn't believe I used to like it, it seemed to have gotten worse. If I recall, their "deep dish" pizza just has an extra inch of dough making it thicker or "deep", with the same thin layer of toppings and just about not sauce on top. I call into question whether the dough is an actual food product, or some kind of flavored recycled cardboard.

Strangely everyone I know says Little Cesars is slightly more edible than the box it comes in, but personally it's the only pizza I like.
I'm going to assume you've never had a real slice of pizza if this is the only pizza you like? Please tell me your only comparisons to this have been Dominos & Pizza Hut, etc.

Do yourself a favor & stay away. It wasn't the arena that made it bad & it's worse than you remember! Honestly, I'm not sure how it's even considered fit for human consumption.

Actually, I've also only had it once, but that was enough. That memory is not soon forgotten.

Is there a reason it's not Little Caesar's Palace?

Prudential - 105M/20yr (still NYC market)
Xcel - 3M per year for 25 years
Just to add, MSG didn't sell their naming rights, but get paid for everything being "Presented By Chase" for what's estimated to be $30M per year for around 10 years.

Probably fear of a massive lawsuit from Caesars Palace?

Good money, but the term is awful. What if it can't succeed?

Bad contract.

Only thing I kinda like to eat from Little Ceasar's is the crazy bread. Sad when you can literally count the number of pepperoni slices on 2 hands on a large pizza.

We call it Little Cheesers since it usually lacks cheese and is mostly crust and sauce. As someone said you can count the toppings on both hands.

For what? It's their name + the title of the venue. Unless they own the words Palace or Little Caesar's.

Little Caesars Arena (new Red Wings home)

http://www.freep.com/story/sports/nh...rena/89233964/

Detroit media got to see a model of the new Little Caesars Arena where the Wings will be playing after next season. I'll post without comment except to say I think the idea of them building it into the ground in order for it to blend in with the surrounding neighborhood really ought to be something other teams should consider if they look to build new arenas in the future.

Meh, not the best arena name out there but Illitch owns the team and can name the arena whatever he wants.

They were never going to put Palace in there anyway.

The Detroit Pistons play at The Palace of Auburn Hills which is called by locals simply The Palace.

I wish they had used coliseum.... But it is what it is. The Little Caesers Palace was never happening because of local reasons much less this idea he couldn't buy them, which might be true. However, some of Ilitch's best connections are in the gaming industry if he had his heart set on it I am sure an arrangement could have been made.

Not to mention the fact that Illitches own their own casino and compete with a Caesar's franchised casino in Windsor.
