Avalanche penalty; Martin Skoula for slashing.

Another penalty...high-sticking on Dan Hinote.

What's with all the penalties tonight?? There's a ton in this game, lots in the Detroit/Pittsburgh game and plenty in the Chicago/Atlanta game.

How did York not score?!?

The refs have gone penalty mad tonight. Some of these calls are legit, but some of them are ticky tacky for both sides. It really hurts the flow of the game.

Oilers take a 3-2 lead. Avs special teams are letting them down tonight. The shot is redirected off of Foote's stick, bad luck for Sauve and the Avs. Edmonton has really impressed me tonight, the Avs don't seem to be totally in sync tonight. The Avs may have the edge in shots, but Edmonton is really outworking them tonight.

Hemsky blocked a shot by Morris and looks hurt.

Phil Sauve with a last second save and the score is 3-2 Edmonton after two periods.

Ugh, we have no discipline tonight. We'll be lucky to escape with a point if we don't come out and play with some urgency.

BTW, Kariya Selanne and Forsberg looked great in their 30 second shift

Sauve hasn't helped himself at all tonight. Staios gets the Oilers on the board early in the third period 4-2 Edmonton. The Avs will have to bail out their goaltender tonight

Another Colorado penalty. The Avs have been brutal tonight, but all of this has resulted for the hustle from the Oilers forwards tonight, they have been great.

Hemsky has returned, so good news for the Oilers.

Avs manage to kill off the penalty, about 15 minutes left in regulation.

Great game by the Oilers so far. They're working hard

Reasoner just took a penalty for the Oil (Look like Forsberg dived too )...to continue this never ending trip to the box (for both teams).

Avs get a power play, but it looks as if Edmonton is in control. Forsberg definately embellished that one, can't defend him there.

Tanguay gets the Avs within one, with his first goal of the season. The Avs PP strikes starting with a great faceoff win.

Avs score to make it 4-3.

Great hit on Kariya by Jason Smith before...and what a chance missed on a short handed rush too.

Should be a great finish!!

Smyth apparently took a hooking penalty just before Tanguay scored, so the Avs go right back on the PP.

Avs will get a two man advantage. Forsberg was apparently slashed.
