If Skjei is able to handle the rightside and top 4 duties, the need for a RHD goes down precipitously. They still to get Girardi back to the bottom pairing, but there becomes much less urgency. Plus, it now creates room for two of Gilmour, Graves or Day to have an eventual landing spot.

Does Brady has a short neck or are his shoulder pads extra tall?

After some more analysis, I've come to the conclusion that Brady has a very sturdy neck. Like Marty St.Louis's calves except it's his neck. Good head on a swivel mobility.

Surprised this thread has such little discussion... Only 3 posts over the past month?

Really like his game...

I like Skjei - he is very promising with great passes recently and very good skating skills.

His skating is great, but does anyone else notice how awkward his stride is?

That pass Skjei made last night to to a wide open Pirri in the crease was awesome. Cannot believe Pirri whiffed on that!

Edit: this offseason.

Kinda looks like Lucic when he skates, except way faster.

I remember a few individuals last season making the argument that Graves was as good of a prospect as Skjei. Absurd. Skjei is the real deal and should anchor this blue line with McDonagh for many years.

Skjei's future with the Rangers is moot since he will be a Golden Knight next year.

How? IIRC a team can only protect 3 D, and players with NMC and NTC HAVE to be be protected. Rangers are going to protect McDonagh, will have to protect Staal and Girardi, and it's b-bye Brady.

All first- and second-year professionals, as well as all unsigned draft choices, will be exempt from selection (and will not be counted toward their club's applicable protection limits).

Lists all exempt players, all players who have to be protected due to NMC, etc.
