Of course this is speculation. The kid still has NHL ambitions. It sucks for him, but he was already a longshot. This retardation of his development won't help him, especially if it continues for too long.
It could set him back psychologically, but if he's cleared to train, I suspect it's getting into game shape, and then reacquiring his confidence and timing.

When you're dealing with a serious heart condition, it doesn't seem good for him to be a professional athlete. Think of all the players who have had to end their careers because of heart conditions: Mario Lemieux and Jiri Fischer after he fainted on the Detroit bench, Rich Peverley.

But I'm not a doctor. And his was reportedly due to an untreated upper respiratory problem. Hopefully he can come back.

Sergei Zholtok is another tragic example, I still remember some of the really nice goals he scored for the Habs in 99-2000 when he finished with 26 goals. He died from heart failure while playing a game in Belarus during the lockout season.

Could be a good fit in Laval... If he accepts it.

He was going to play with the Ice Caps last year but got severely ill. Lets hope he's 100% healthy and proves he can play in a physical NA game in Laval. He's got crazy skill... just so small.

That's great news!

Always had hope for Reway. He's got some great skill, just needed to be more consistent. The Habs lack a guy like him on the PP.

Always on his butt when he was playing in Gatineau.

I think he could provide some much needed offense if we play him in the right situations. He needs to commit to back checking though. I'd love to see him play a few NHL games next year! Show us what you got kid!

Great news but it's going to be really tough for him to get back at it IMO.

You never know, go Martin!

I'm rooting for him. Hopefully he can stick. I'd like for him to play in the AHL.

There is a rumor, that HC Slovan Bratislava from KHL wants him. For loan. He could begin the season in KHL and then go to AHL evt. NHL.

What? He's ready to play? I heard he just restarted skating again recently...

I would imagine it will take him a lot of time before he's able to play again.

great news indeed, just to hear that he's healthy enough to be skating. Hopefully the recovery goes well this summer and he can get back to playing next year.

He can't be at his strongest physically by the time training camp starts, I'd imagine. I'd just like him to play in a league where he can skate and handle the puck before he's ready to come back to a rough league and risk injury.

I hope no one judges his play overly harsh this season. He's easily our most skilled prospect (yes, more skilled than Scherbak), but he'll for sure need time to get back at it.

If he's healthy he's a prospect at the same level as Lehkonen, Ghetto (who we never should have let go of), and Hudon. Like Lehkonen, he was captain of his nation's world junior team and has put up excellent numbers in European pro leagues at a young age.

He sounds more skilled than Lehkonen, but may have trouble in traffic. I really hope he's fully healthy so we can see what his full potential is.

Excellent news. For all the trumped up questions about attitude, commitment etc. etc. Reway has been our most talented prospect for a while. He's torched two different european mens league, and captained a bronze medal winning WJC team.

Here's hoping he can make a more successful comeback than Bozon.

I'll be rooting for him for sure, he's one of our better prospects pure skills wise. I'm not letting my hopes go up too much but he might have a chance to get back to where he was prior to his illness.

No matter what else he does, its worth remembering that WJC performance. Flat out doing everything to carry a weak squad on his back, like Kopitar for Slovenia at the senior level.

hopefully he can get better and starts developping again in Laval!

Hope, he will be fine. This issues are not easy, he has to be aware of every problem.
Still one of the best prospects in Slovakia.
He is now 22. I hope, that the management of Habs is patient with him. I will see him on the peak as a 26 years old.
Ernest Bokros, former head coach of Slovak U 20 team, said, he is the best prospect ever, he had to work with. Without any doubt.
