Khudobin in 2006 WJC

Hey ...

Has anyone seen Khudobin play in the WJCs? He was obviously good against Team USA.

he is an ABSOLUTE STEAL in the 7th rd. This guy is an amazing goalie, he needs to step up to the pressure situations though. Tonight is a good challange for him.

Khudobin is hard to pin. I wouldn't call him a steal until he plays at least one shift in the NHL. He's...different. He isn't doing well in the WHL, and I don't really know if it is him or his team. He didn't do so well at the ReMax games either.

Seems inconsistent to me. Granted, I don't get to see him play much at all. I thought he looked just fine in the Russia-USA game the other night.

Played really well the year before though in his two games against the Q League. The thing I've noticed with Khudobin is that he's solid and has a great skill set, but it's easy to rattle him. If forecheckers are coming in hard on him, or those little digs after the whistle and so on, it's easy to throw him off his game. Hopefully that's something that can be improved as he grows older.

^ That might be the reason why he's not adjusting to the WHL.

He came into the gold medal game with a 96% save percentage and a 1.something goal against average. This was the best out of all goalies in the World Juniors and he was in fact stellar.

Then he flubbed in the Gold Medal game by letting in 5 goals, 4 of which were rather soft and easily preventable by the goaltender.

He is "different"... I would say he makes the NHL and spends his shortish career as a backup.

Needs to keep his emotions in check too:not bang the stick around too much or go after players that get too close to the crease.
