what is the criteria of a tie

other than actually being tied?

According to the current results, Billy Ryan has the 17th spot.

A Tie-breaker occurs when the top 2 players are seperated by 3 or less votes. Now the 35 people who did not vote for either of them get to vote between the players.

While i do like liffitons toughness, he has a very simle skill set, Billy Ryan is an underrated dark horse that people easily forget, he has 2nd line potential. while liffiton has 3rd pairing max, Both probably have an even shot at getting to the NHL so i'll take that better potential here.

Fair enough Taz. I made up my own list a week or so ago and rated Liffiton at 15--the unprospect Genoway at 16 and Ryan at 17 so to me they're close. If I'm not mistaken Liffiton was the youngest player in the AHL in 2004-05. I see him as a possible Colin White type player and what he's done in Hartford so far and as young as he still is--is just fine. He might be a 3rd pairing but I think he's a very good bet to be an NHL player for some time. And he's tough. Ryan is also if I remember rightly one of the youngest in his draft class. There at least was a size issue but he has good talent and seems to have desire and he's made nice progress in a very good college league. Anyway I hope whichever of them doesn't win this round wins the next.
