There's a lot of fumbling the puck tonight.

Ice doesn't look the greatest - typical for June. Clutching, grabbing, hooking and tripping doesn't help either.

Bjorkstrand's passing is underrated.

I think Lake Erie would beat Columbus if they played a game tomorrow

They looked pretty damn good in the NHL preseason last season. (when they throttled Buffalo with a largely AHL squad). Best thing Jarmo can do this summer is clear out the dead wood.

I haven't watched much LEM hockey

other than youtube highlights but there is some decent talent on this team:

Bjork, Sedlak, Zaar really stood out when I was expecting to see more of Sonny Milano, Chaput and Tynan

On D Werenski is very talented, Paliotta & Heatherington caught my eye as well

the guy that has really stood out to me the most is Forsberg.. game 2 he took a puck right off a guys stick (point blank with a flick of his glove), one of the most reactive saves I have seen in some time

For anyone who missed the article last month and were wondering what the "Win it for Phil" signs are about, here's an article by Portzline about Lake Erie assistant equipment manager Phil Simon:

It's the playoffs. Refs won't cough up the whistle unless its something egregious.

It's the playoffs: I hate it but they want the players to play.

Other than that, for all the games I've seen the refs have been on point with offsides most of the time.

Sedlak feels like he came out of nowhere. But this is the first year I've seen this team. Kukan? He's done really well considering his long injury stretch.

If Thiessen wasn't so old, I'd say he's a great goalie prospect. Korpi seems to do better in the NHL than Forsberg and Forsberg seems to do better in AHL then Korpisalo.

Anderson's good he just needs to calm it down on the dumb penalties.

It's 2x better than the mess in Hershey.

The Q was nice and cold when I got there. Of course that all changed for the times they lit the flames. I didn't expect the pyro. They haven't done that for like 2 years (for Monsters games). It's crazy though, because you can feel the heat of the flames almost instantly.

I heard some people from CBJ were in attendance but I don't know if it was staff or what.

I wouldn't be surprised if a player or two from the old Monsters team shows up for Saturday.

Bears wasted no time leaving Cleveland. Their bus almost hit me on Bolivar as it was pulling out of the garage at 10:43. Their driver needs to learn how to yield to traffic with the right of way. Fitting end of the evening for them.

What a great game!
Bjorkstrand's first goal was a thing of beauty; great pass from Sedlak!
I don't think the puck even touched the ice....such a great hockey play.

(side note: I've always secretly rooted for Sedlak to make CBJ, as my nephew has the same last name, lol - no relation).
