Mr. Ryan Malone

Is available according to sportsnet.ca.

An email was sent out by Craig Patrick saying the 26 year old sophomore is on the trading block.

Scored 22 goals in his rookie season, but is slumping this season with 6 goals. Healthy scratch in 3 of the last 5 games. Only makes $750,000 per season.

This is a guy I'd love to see in a Kings uni.

Ya I remember thinking he'd become a quality player his first year anyone know of a reason for his slump or he simply slumping? Has anyone seen him this year. Would be ok but depends on what we need to give up

I saw that too.

And I considered it but it's be too much of a gamble.

Plus, if DT did pick him up, it'd probably just mean that there wouldn't be another pick-up and I don't think he's really what the Kings need.

Does anyone know who he's been playing with for the most part? He probably has a significantly reduced offensive role considering all of Pittsburgh's additions.

Just compare the Pens' roster this year:

To last season:

INDT, but I'd take a chance on him for sure if he could be had for a decent draft pick. Especially since he's got some power forward potential at 6'4", 215lb.

I think Malone could be a solid 2nd line scorer for the rest of his career...and I bet we could get him for Dempsey and a mid-range prospect.

Get him!! This is a better buy-low opportunity than Huselius. Ryan Malone last season had the ability to physically dominate games. Unfortunately he was the only threat so he had to face top-pairing defensemen all season. This season I was expecting him to reach the 60-70 pt range with the additions the Pens made but he's been relegated to more of a support role. The talent is still there though.

Here's the thread on the Pens board:

It seems that his effort has been obviously lacking this year.

As much as you don't like to hear that no matter what the circumstances, it could still be a good dumpster dive IMHO...
