Hi all, went to the Steelheads game tonight and thought i'd let you know how Ellis did.
In last nights game (which I didn't go to) he gave up 5 goals and Idaho lost 5-3.
Tonight he looked very solid. He was square to the shooter most of the time and well positioned. He has a good glove hand and is quick to use it. He left the net a few times but I didn't see him use the stick much. He's got good size and good reflexes. In the 2nd period he was sprawled out on his side full length trying to stop the puck, a Vegas player pulled the puck to the side to get it around his head but, while on his side, Ellis 'skootched' upwards to stop the puck from going in, great save.
He did give up 2 goals near the end of the third period but not much he could have done about them. 2nd goal they rushed the net and scored. Third goal was a diflection while he was being screened.
Game went to sudden death ot and no one scored, then went to a shootout. He only faced 3 shots and stopped them all, amazing reflexes on 2 of the saves. Steelheads won 4-3.
All in all he looked good, and I expect as the team gets used to playing with each other and better communication he'll do even better.
