Ryan Malone

Read in the Ottawa Sun yesterday that there is interest for Ryan Malone in Ottawa. Just curious to see what we could offer Pitsburg, and if he's worth aquiring.

We don't need more young players, we need some veterans.

I'm not holding my breath. I don't see how that makes sense for Pittsburgh.

Is this the same source who told you that the Sens were going to imminently sign Bryan Marchment?

And why would Pittsburgh want Denis Hamel?

Maybe we can pick up Pat Falloon too.

He had a fantastic World Junior tournament if I recall correctly.

Wait a second....

We DID have Pat Falloon.

Let's get him back dammit!

Similar to the Pothier+Smolinski for Arnott deal? That someone posted they had heard it was already done "on the radio". Interesting nonetheless.

EXACTLY!

Sure...Malone could potentially make some sense...but he's a home grown boy down there...I don't see them giving up on him this quickly.

Maybe that's why they would have to take Hamel in the trade.

I would think a 3rd for Malone would work for both sides. I agree, though, adding some veteran presence/playoff experience would be a wise move for the Sens at the deadline.

I agree.

Besides, I can't fathom why Pittsburgh would want to give up on one of their young players AT ALL right now. The future is all they have, because the present is looking pretty bleak.

Great. We can add malone to our abundance of bottom 6 forwards...

If you need a 3rd line centre, the Sens have about 14.

But I really do like Malone, and would have no problem if the Sens wanted to grab him. I don't blame him for stinking in Pittsburgh this year. Remember that he had like 40 pts in his rookie year...

Rico you are losing your mind, I know you like Letang but c'mon! Are you going to step in and fill Reddens shoes for the rest of the season and into our cup run? Or do you think that Letang had such a great WJC that he could just forego the rest of his junior career and come straight to the sens?

On the Malone front, I'd love to see Ottawa be able to land Malone, I'd imagine all it would take would be a pick of some sort.

I also heard that Mario wants one last run at the cup before he retires and is coming to Ottawa...but I can't divulge my source until it actually happens...

Am I the only one who remebers some Pittsburgh fans arguing that Malone was better than Havlat value and player wise?

Oh god i will love you if you are right.

I was thinking something like Vermette and Pothier for Malone and Letang.
