Vejdemo picked an assist in his team's season opening win versus Leksands. He centered the third line most of the game.

he did as he rushed it up ice, although he got a little lucky it didn't end up a turnover.

Decent start for our prospects last night.

Bradley got a goal and Bourque/Mete both got two assists.

yeah Mete apparently had a great game. A couple nice vids on Mitch Brown's twitter feed (which is a great resource for hab prospects by the way. definitely on the optimistic side but I personally happen to share a good deal of his optimism when it comes to our prospects).

Bradley seemed to show some nice things at camp. For a guy who's not even in our top 25 prospects or barely he has decent potential. I don't think he has much a future but he's still an intriguing long shot.

Bradley would be in my top 25 most likely, when I get around to doing one.

Did watch a little of Pezzetta last night but these early games in the CHL aren't worth as much since teams are missing their best players. Didn't finish watching it but he got jobbed on a goal against as he was skating back into his own end when he got picked off. I guess the ref called it incidental contact but it clearly led to the goal as he was then out of position. Big kid, got a lot of ice time.

It's only 2 games in but Nygren tied for league lead in points with 4. This is the last year we hold his rights, so if there's any hope of bringing him over it's going to have to be done before June 30th.

I wish Nygren had the desire and they gave him a legit chance to stick this year. We could use a puck mover like him, maybe on the third pairing with Emelin and second unit PP.

I guess the only way we could sign him is with an european assignment clause, NHL or go back honor his contract with Färjestad.

Wow...what a stupid move by Pezzetta. Can't wait to see how many games he got but he will deserve all of them.

Holy overreaction

I believe it's the first time he does a suspendable hit, he's no Vince Dunn.

It's a bad hit, but pretty similar to Pacioretty's hit on Letang (a bit later than Pacioretty though) for which he got suspended. Did you want Pacioretty traded at that point?

Why couldn't they sign him when his season ends in the SHL this year since there's a PTA in place? He would just have to buy out the remaining years of his contract with Farjestad no? Not that I think it will happen.

Also because he didn't like it too much in Hamilton, so if it doesn't work out, no AHL.

If we can't make a comeback to NA happen then we really need to get SOMETHING for Nygren. A top pairing ,points producing SHL dman in his mid twenties, captain of a top team , etc. He has to be worth a decent pick at least if we shop him to the right team.

Yeah. We have to use him. In any capacity. So that he plays or traded.

Yea I assume no AHL since he's one of the top scoring defensemen in the SHL last year and hopefully has a bigger year in order to get some attention not just from the Habs but other teams as well in case management won't bend on bringing him over. But it shouldn't be a problem, sign him and the only downside is if it doesn't work out he goes back to the SHL and you lose one of the 50 contract spots.

The last 2 posts were really nice to read! Great news.

Mostly the fact that coaches voted for Sergachev as the best Dman by such a huge margin.

Can't wait to see what he has to offer in a preseason game!!

Who do you think Bitten will be slotted with in Hamilton? Matthew Strome?

The Strome-Saigeon-Luff line has done very well in the first few games so they might want to leave it alone for a while. Bitten might start on the Petti line, he's a big 20 year old, meat and potatoes type that he'd complement well with his speed.

Vejdemo had a rougher game yesterday against Karlskrona . He ended up with a -2 but he wasn't really to blame on either goals, his team was very flat. He was playing on the left side instead of his usual center and had a couple of nice rushes that sadly didn't lead to anything. He can really build impressive speed when he's got some open ice in front of him, although sometimes it looks like he's keeping back a bit in that aspect.
