so maybe I missed something, but with this absurd amount of cash being thrown around how does Al Jefferson only get 30million/3 years?

Done deal

After months of waiting and hoping and working, the Celtics struck on Saturday, agreeing to a four-year, $113 million deal with free agent forward Al Horford, one of the biggest prizes of this summer.

Apparently Durant Flew to Boston last night then flew to the Haptons w/ Tom Brady this afternoon.

Finally got the fireworks we were promised

Wooooah is that for real? I was thinking it was a bummer they were meeting in the Hamptons. Your best chance is to put him in the garden and do your pitch where all the legacy is.

I'm actually shocked.

Ainge, Stevens, Horford, Boston.....they got a real shot at getting Durant. I always think back when he was in college and they showed Ainge sitting with his mother during a game

I can see this happening for real

What does this do as far as the rotation of the rest of our big men go? Who stays, who goes?

Man the Celtics if they get Durant would be stacked and have a great bench

Thomas
Bradley
Durant
Sullinger
Horford

Bench-
Smart
Crowder
Brown
Olynk
Johnson

Play Crowder in crunch time or go small ball and start IT, AB, KD, Jae, Al

Yeah, who was the last big free agent though? Did you ever answer the question? Oh, and Rasheed Wallace is relevant cus he played basketball too.

No room for Sully (who can't play the 4 anyways) or Amir if we were to land Durant.

If we don't get Durant, Sully would be a good center to allow Horford to play the 4, but I wouldn't give him a multiyear deal.

Well I took my time to lather up and blow dry my hair! It was one of those moments where I didn't have to rush. Little did I know Horford signed. Craziness!

I'm jealous of the HP stuff. One day I'll get down there, Dan. One day!

Be a neat trick as for many years the NBA had a trophy like the Stanley Cup - The Walter Brown Trophy. It was retired and lives in Springfield now.

Looks like the Clippers are out of the running for Durant as Doc made sure they signed his kid to a new deal.

from cbssports.com:

A day after pitching Kevin Durant on a Big 4 of himself, Blake Griffin, Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan, the Clippers have effectively dashed any hopes they may have had at landing the free-agent superstar by reportedly agreeing on a deal with Austin Rivers. According to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski, Rivers agreed to take a three-year, $35 million deal with the Clippers, which virtually eliminates any cap space they may have had to sign Durant.

The Clippers could theoretically do a sign-and-trade for Durant but that would mean they would have to trade either Griffin or Jordan. So again, the idea of a Big 4 can't happen now. Truth be told, despite blowing away Durant in their meeting, with their limited cap space the Clippers were always long shots to actually sign the All-Star. Getting a meeting with Durant was huge, though, and could help them in future free-agent meetings.

Wow, Horford signed and we threw Brady at Durant? Then Horford signed after he thought long and hard about going back to ATL or signing with WSH?

Not saying it's a wrap, but the Durant thing could be very real. Danny would be hailed like a god if he could finish this short rebuild like this (with even more top picks coming up in the next couple of years).
