If anything that kind of pitch helps the celtics. It shows that a conference rival is terrified of the prospect of facing a Durant led Celtics team.

Welcome to the CDJ spin zone everybody

Could KD sign a one year deal in Boston that way he has the option of the bigger max contract deals available next year , or is that only an option from Oklahoma?

I don't see a self-serving ESPN special being held where he stabs his hometown team in the back, so I disagree

With Horford coming to Boston you would think that at least 2 of these guys are now on the way out - Sullinger ( RFA ), Olynyk, Amir Johnson and Zeller ( RFA ). I would think the only that is safe is Olynyk but who knows what Trader Danny has up his sleeve ????

Olynyk should be safe. I would've been ok moving him at the draft, but he's a nice piece. Sully or Zeller are only here if it's a one year deal. And Amir probably stays unless we get Durant.

Dewayne Dedmon could be another front court option. Or possibly Gasol, but I doubt that. More likely we use up our remaining cap space (if not on Durant) on another wing. Lance Stephenson is an option there.

If durant does the 1 year deal in okc, absolutely imperative the celtics at the very least win a playoff series. Take that next step to further entice durant.

He can go to every one he met with besides the warriors that be a terrible look for him. He will join lebron in being hated immensely. Warriors lucky curry deal is so cheap this would normally be impossible for them.

ok Skip Bayless

I think KD is more worried about just winning something rather than ending up like Karl Malone

It would make a mockery of the system and other than Warriors fans and those fans that only root for winners to fill a void I would think the rest would root for failure

I hope if it's not here and they go 98-0. Whoopie

Yeah wanting to win by picking the right team in your view being a free agent is such a ******* move.

He is a free agent. How is that a mockery?

Great management I guess.

I don't begrudge Durant at all if he goes there, I never really got the hate for LeBron for building a team in Miami (and face it LeBron built that team)

Super power house Golden State warriors. Not empressive. Win it with Oklahoma. League run by players. All want the easy way out. Beat the best not win with them.

Basically I have the same opinion. Wouldn't hate him, but it would tarnish his legacy to some degree. Lebron realized exactly that at some point that tried to repair it by leaving Miami. Durant could be heir best player in the post-season, it wouldn't change a thing. Lebron's was the Heat's best player for basically the whole time, yet it was and has always been Wade's team. It's not always about pure numbers.

GSW would also be BRUTAL for the league. Even worse than the Miami combo. This would be 4 superstars instead of 3.

If KD's not coming here I bet Danny wouldn't panic at all. He's got Horford which is more than we could have expected. He would bring back Amir and Jerebko on one year deals and try again next year. If not for free agents, then someone like Cousins could be made available and they would still be in a perfect situation.

Signing KD would be the shortcut, though. No assets involved and a true top 5-10 layer in the league.

Surprised he wants to join the Warriors. Coming to the celtics he would be the face of the franchise.

I'm not expecting him to pick Boston.

David aldridge just reported Durant's second meeting with OKC has ended now we wait. Based on everything I read and seen. It's between Celts, Warriors, OKC. Good to be in the top three however most of the tweets are showing clear momentum for GSW. Then again it seemed to be trending that way for Horford before he shocked us all.

Yup...these guys have earned the right to be free agents. If they want to go play with their friends or go to the team that they think gives them the best chance to win, that's cool. That doesn't change my opinion of them.

All of this talk about legacy...you know what would be terrible for his legacy? Staying in OKC and never winning a title.

And credit to GS for building the team they have and even being in a position to add a guy like Durant.

That's why I take every rumor with a grain of salt. First we were in the lead for Horford, then Atlanta was definitely out, then Washington emerged, then Atlanta was back in the lead and then finally the Celtics.

I just wish he would make his decision within the next few hours...just to get it over with.

By the way: Is it possible that the NBA would block a move to GS? What caused them to block the CP3 trade to the Lakers back then?
