**Rumor - LaBarbera to Manchester for conditioning - Rumor**

For what it may be worth - Found this on one of the AHL boards. It was posted by a pretty credible source.

Quote:
I'm going [LA - Boston game] with my husband and some friends. I got the tickets back in September with hopes of meeting up with Jason LaBarbera before or after the game. Unfortunately, he just got assigned to Manchester for conditioning. Looks like we're skipping the Pack game on Saturday to watch you guys in Albany.

Where did you see that about LaBarbera?

It hasn't been officially announced yet. Jason sent a text message to my friend Nick today because he knows we're all going to the game Thursday.

Nick Nickson brought this up yesterday in the post-game show. Since LaBarbera hasn't seen much playing time as of late, the Kings intend to assign him to the Monarchs on a conditioning assignment, with Hauser getting the call to back up Garon in Boston and perhaps in Buffalo as well.

Why not happy? LaBarbera will be the first to tell you he has't had a good game since his personal matters occupied his time, and Hauser has been playing very well for Manchester for ages now. Give LaBarbera time to get back to his old form and he'll be back to the Kings soon enough.

Following Garon's worst game in 2 months, LaBarbera gets sent down for conditioning. If this doesn't confirm that Garon is the team's #1 (even if AM refuses to admit it), I don't know what does. Even just a month ago, Garon probably would've been benched after such a game and LaBarbera put in for the next.

This would actually make a lot of sense. With Garon playing as well he has been (last night excepted) LaBarbera's not getting the time here and he needs to work on his game. Go to Manchester & shake off the rust. He'll be back soon enough and people will feel more comfortable when he's put between the pipes.

Upcoming Manchester games:

1/11 - at home vs. Portland
1/13 - at home vs. Lowell
1/14 - away vs. Albany
1/15 - at home vs. Providence.

Plenty of games in a short span for LaBarbera to get some work.

Hauser may have been playing well but from all accounts Brust has been outplaying him and has taken the starting role for now.

Hauser has been anything but "very good" over the past couple of weeks, but it has been a decimated (and small) Monarchs team in front of him. He's clearly at his best when Grebeshkov is kov-ing up the puck in front of him

Not really a trade, but the swap of Brust for Rooneem seems to have worked out rather well for us so far.

Hauser has actually only played in 2-games over the past couple of weeks. Brust has seen the bulk of the work since the 30th of Dec. Hauser and the Monarchs did have a rough end to 2005 however...

Late December:

21st Hauser 4-1 loss to Providence
23rd Hauser 3-2 SOW over Portland
28th Hauser 5-2 loss to Portland (EN goal for Portland)
30th Brust 4-0 win over Springfield
31st Brust 4-3 win over Albany

January:

6th Brust 3-2 loss to Providence
7th Hauser 5-1 loss to Hartford (Rullier's coming out party)
8th Brust 4-3 win over Albany

That's what I figured. Basically the goalie situation in Manchester has been similar to what the Kings did earlier in the season. Hauser playing against the tougher teams and Brust seeing action against the lower ranked teams...
