I would vote for the unlisted third choice: they share the job and compete for minutes.

IMO, No one can be claim Bruins #1 so far, The battle between those two will continued for at least 2 month, And in late January Sullivan will name his #1 and prepared the team for playoff. we all know in playoff you need a clear #1.

But if you give me the choice today, I bet on Raycroft !

If I had to choose right now I'd rather go with Potvin because he has so much more experience. I'd like to see Raycroft be our #1 in another year or two.

From what I've seen, Raycroft has been better so far.

I think it should be a fairly even split (say 60/40) for now in favor of Potvin (unless he falters of course). Potvin is the more experienced player and has played well so far, and appears to have the perfect temperment (read:Team player) to guide and mentor Raycroft. Keep the friendly competition going, and see how the situation plays out.....if one player falters, or if one excels......then go in that direction. But if both continue to play well........leave it like it is. Two 'tenders playing well...........nice problem to have ............hope it continues.

I agree with you 100% Caper, Potvin should get most of the starts unless he falters. I like the Bruins goaltending alot, but I don't think Raycroft is ready to be a #1 yet. A year of being #2, or even co-#1 with Potvin should do him very well. No sense in rushing him along.
