GDT (1/12): PHI @ DET, 7:30 p.m.

I'm bitter about tonight because I had to sell my ticket for this game tonight. I had a sweet seat too...center ice, 12th row. Had to sell because I started up a couple classes I'm taking for work and my second class is on Thursday nights. Since working is paying for my classes, can't skip it to go to the game.

Anyways, would've loved see Forsberg and Gagne at the Joe...should be a good one. I admit, I'm a Forsberg fan...that was the reason I wanted to see this game in person. Might catch part of the game if I get home early enough.

Flyers 4 (Gagne 2, Knuble, Richards...Forsberg 3 assts)
Wings 3 (Shanahan, Lidstrom, Williams)

I don't think we are going to win this game!

But I say positive and say 3 - 2 for the Wings

Wings:
Schneider, Lidstrom and Datsyuk

Flyers:
Gange and Knuble

Manny Legace will get the start for the Red Wings tonight. Henrik Zetterberg will lineup on the wing tonight with Pavel Datsyuk as his centre, allowing Robert Lang to return to centre on the other line in tonight's game against Philadelphia. - Detroit Free Press

I thought Zetterberg was doing well at center?

Zetterberg (2), Shanahan, Lidstrom

4-1 Wings

I'm not feelin' too optimistic about this one either. The Flyers are on a record road streak, playing really well right now, and we've had trouble putting in a 60 minute game.

At least Babs would never diss the guys the way Therrien did his Pens- even if we did play that badly!!! What a mess that is....

Pete has always played well against the Wings and I'm just betting he is really looking forward to tonight's game.

5-2 Flyers.

I think the Flyers will be all over the Wings: 6-1

Face it: they're on fire, we're not..

wow... I thought Wings fans are sure about this one. IMO Flyers are a bit tried and this is tehir 11th. They had no legs in game against NJ.
I hope it will be our game but I think we are too tired and still missing a huge chunk of our defense. Plus back to back games will not help.

I'm not feeling good about this game either. Our offense hasn't clicked since we beat up on the lowly Blue Jackets on New Year's Eve, and the only game we put in a full sixty minutes in the past two weeks was against the Preds.

I think the Flyers win this one 4-2.

I think this'll turn into a shooting gallery with the wings winning because I think we'll take into consideration the last 2 games that we handed to the opponents.
I'm hoping Osgood gets the start and plays well in a run and gun game.

6-5 wings.

flyer fan here... flyers are ending a huge road trip and are playing a bit tired... the losses of top d-men pitkanen, desjardins and (C) primeau are killing the flyers PP and PK and thats a strong point of detroit... if philly was fully healthy and rested id say this game might be in there favor if not a 50/50 toss up... i think wings pull this out with a 2 goal win... 5-3 or 4-2

So maybe he who comes out strong and fast, scores first, and doesn't take a bunch of stupid penalties wins. Flyers may be tired, but they're probably up for playing the Wings, a misfortune we face frequently. Our D is not at its best either right now which is probably why the Wings fans are not declaring an easy defeat. If Legace can find his groove early though, we should have a good shot at winning this one.

What a 3rd period! Datsyuk and Zetterberg were dominant. Shanahan wasn't hugely involved on those goals but picked up 4 assists and created room for the other 2 all night.

Does anyone notice that Datsyuk has less highlight-reel plays this year but is somehow producing more? I think he's maturing, not trying to always make the spectacular play, but the smart one.

Badly needed win over a good opponent.

Datsyuk moved up into a tie for 11th in scoring with Tanguay (Ovechkin was tied with them but already has a goal tonight).

Good to see Lang get a goal....hopefully it can motivate him to bring the solid effort he had tonight every night instead of one or two times every few months.
